What Happens If A Huge Quake Strikes Down The Metro?

A couple of days back, DPWH made a thorough assessment of Metro Manila following the earthquake/tsunami last Friday at Japan to see how RP would fare in the event of such a disaster.

To tell you, the results aren't good to hear. Lemme give a quick rundown on their study.

Here are the possible casualties that might be brought by a 7.5 magnitude-strong quake impact:

30M filipinos would be homeless, with millions of pesos in terms of structural casualties(roads, buildings, homes, etc.)
400 water supply points would be cut, due to severe damage on pipelines
Communication cables cut, causing imminent difficulties that may last for weeks if not months
Power lines/posts damaged, immediately bringing power shortage to the entire metropolis
9 bridges would collapse, transportation difficulties would occur
Vital facilities would receive damage following the impact. These include schools, fire departments, govt. agencies key offices and the like, which might result in a non-functioning goverment

Disturbing, they are. But we have to accept the fact that with RP's location within the perimeters of the pacific plate and a fault line endangering the rest of the metro & its neighboring provinces, a huge quake similar to what we saw last week at Japan, is bound or more likely to come in the future. These facts are not released to create panic, but rather to educate all of us in preparing ourselves against such disasters.

As the old adage says, an ounce of prevention is much better than a pound of cure.

Pray. It works.

Sports Corner: Of AFC Challenge Cup and The Azkals

Perhaps time literally stopped here at RP earlier this day during the Philippine Azkals' second bout against the win-hungry Mongolian Blue Wolves. Surely, t'was a tight match, given the opponent's desperation to earn a spot in the prelims and the weather which most of the boys from RP aren't familar with. But then, seems that Lady Luck sided with the rabid pinoy warriors this time.

Let us examine a couple of factors that were quite noticeable during the match.

Weather

Perhaps the biggest concern everyone had for the team, the harsh winter climate at Mongolia sure became a true obstacle for the Azkals. Obviously, most of them are aliens to this type of environment. The tight weather decreased an ample percentage of their mobility and left everyone vulnerable against injury risks. The high altitude also gave them a lot of trouble, given that it slows down their breathing rate at some point.

This factor played an important role in the match. Noticeably, our boys performed their plays sluggishly, with them becoming prone to injury and some of our defenders rendered unable to move at their usual speeds(e.g, Chiffy Caligdong). However, the collective will of the entire team gave them the strength to brave through the climate.

Neil's absence during the game indeed was a big loss for the Azkals. Edward was a midfielder prior to the 2nd leg. His transition into becoming a goalkeeper took a toll for this bout. While it is true that he performed fine earlier with his good positioning and intuition, he did not possess the grip and sense of Neil when it comes to the said position.

Formations

As expected, Mongolia played tighter with regards to their formations, sporting a defensive play that hindered the Azkals from penetrating shots. The Azkals, on the other hand remained on their objective of pressing the attack whilst claiming possession for the remainder of the game. They did a good job in rendering their plays, however as I've mentioned above, the climate became a literal enemy of theirs during the game, thus hindering them from performing them at a much higher rate.

Conclusions, Future

All in all, the Azkals literally experienced birthing throes, which is normal for a football team. I believe Coach Michael Weiss must improve the team's training schedule, as well as its phases and etc. I hope the members took notes during the game earlier, that would aid them a great deal in their future matches.

Keep it up boys. Let the passion continue on burning. Game on. :)

Yesterday was a disaster...

Nuff' said.

T'was the worst disaster we've seen in recent years, much worse than the calamities that preceeded it.

Truth is, it's quite heartbreaking to see videos/photos of the events that unfolded yesterday, not to mention watching people die on live TV. Guess no one's an exception at the face of such harrowing events, not even superpowers or otherwise.

The quake at Japan made me ponder on a couple of things:

Is this a premonition of upcoming events, or to make it simple, is our world slowly breaking apart?
Did we trigger this calamity by ourselves? I don't think that God would simply let loose such a disaster(points out to a Genesis verse)
Boy, a lot of things occurred lately. What's going on?

Whatever the answers to those questions are, I hope that things at Japan would be fine soon enough. The Land of the Rising Sun never believes in giving up. I'm quite sure they'll be able to stand up following this disaster(points out to the Hiroshima bombing decades ago).

It's been a while since I posted something worthwhile on my journal. My apologies. You see, it's my final year in college, and I'm working double time to ensure my spot towards the end of the race. Once all things are said and done, I'll be updating this site again.

Superklasse Wednesday

After four months of not going to a club (LITERALLY), I finally did to show some support for one of my best friends, Mel and to see friends who I haven’t seen for the longest longest longest time. It was the first time I’ve ever set foot in Encore (to think I used to go to Embassy every week). It felt surreal to be out and without my boyfriend, LJ, who couldn’t come due to an early class the following day.

I only had 4 drinks: 3 Amaretto Sours and a Mai Tai. It felt good seeing a lot of my friends. We took so many pictures that my fully charged camera went low bat. Anyway, Mel and I decided to leave Encore by 2:30 A.M. Our friends stayed behind since the club closes at 3 A.M. Mel and I were taking separate cabs since she goes home to Mandaluyong and I to Makati. I WAS COMPLETELY SOBER. Not even a bit tipsy.

I remember telling her as we were leaving the club “It’s my first time going home in a cab alone from this club.” Mel was a bit concerned, even offering me to stay over her place for the night.. I told her not to worry, I ALWAYS get home safely.

So we went to get our cabs and I made sure Mel got into her cab first. Then I was looking for a cab who wouldn’t fix the price (you know how it is at The Fort) and there was one who volunteered that he’d use the meter. So I took his offer. I distinctly remember most of the waiting cabs were DAVIS cabs. Mine was not. And I was so damn stupid not to get his taxi’s name and plate number.

In the middle of the ride, I started changing into regular shorts and top. The driver wasn’t looking though but suddenly his hand reached for behind and I was surprised. He was saying, “MAY NAHULOG. Wallet mo ata.” I found a 50 peso bill on the floor. Then he said, “Ang dami mo sigurong pera. Mayaman ka noh?” I didn’t answer. I started getting nervous. I started looking for the cab’s number (which is usually written on the side of the doors). There were faint markings but it couldn’t be understood. The driver noticed my agitation and said, “Anong hinahanap mo? Plate number? Bigay ko sayo.” I was like, “Never mind.” I did NOT want him to know I was getting nervous already. Plus we were so near my house. I thought, what could go wrong?

But something did. Three streets away from my house, the cab driver “hit” a pothole or hump or whatever. He pulled over to the side and said, “Tangina, pano na yan? Na-lock yung steering wheel. Hindi ko maikot.” I was just looking at him, confused. I have no knowledge of cars so I do not know if he was bluffing or not. The meter was 75. I gave him a hundred. He had no change daw so I was like, “Fine, whatever. There’s nothing I can do about it.” I stepped out of the cab, in the middle of Bautista Street, a long street but near my house. It was almost 3 A.M. When I looked back, the cab was gone.

HOW IN THE WORLD WAS HE ABLE TO DRIVE AWAY IF HIS STEERING WHEEL WAS “LOCKED”?

I called my boyfriend up AND THANK GOD HE ANSWERED HIS PHONE. He was sleeping already, good thing the call woke him up. I was trying to remain calm. I told him my dilemma. Suddenly an empty cab drove by. A DIFFERENT ONE. I hailed it. I had probably less than half a kilometer to my house which was three streets away. The cab took me in and I ended the call.

Two more lefts, it was my house already. It was Camalig Street, then Bigasan Street. Suddenly the driver went left, the street just right before my house, Camalig. I said very politely, “Kuya, MALI. Atras ka, atras ka. Sa kabilang street pa. One more left.” The driver just kept driving like he didn’t hear. I said it again. Then he stopped and looked at me. Then he said, “Bayaran mo na.” I was weirded out. I was like, “Why? This is not even my house. It’s on the next street.” Besides, we haven’t traveled far. The meter was still at 30 pesos.

SUDDENLY, without warning, the driver grabbed my neck and jumped to the back. My first thought was, “ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!?!?!?”. But his grip was getting tighter and tighter. I literally couldn’t breathe and felt my consciousness slipping. As we were struggling, I kept scratching at his eyes and reaching for the lock of the left door. He was on top of me hitting my head repeatedly while his other hand around my neck. I was choking and choking when I realized the left side HAD NO FUCKING LOCK, which means I couldn’t get out. Which means I had to try my luck on the right side. Imagine my struggle to get to the other side as a full grown, heavyset man kept bashing my head, scratching my face, pulling my hair and hitting me. I kept scratching his eyes. It was all I could do. When his grip loosened a bit, I managed to open the right door with so much effort. Unfortunately he pulled me back with my hair. Imagine MY TERROR as the door closed again!!!!! I couldn’t scream anymore. Besides, who would hear me I was inside a fucking car. My neck was so sore and I was close to fainting. I kept scratching his eyes and reaching for the door until by some miracle, I opened it fully and screamed with what was remaining of my voice.

The driver said something like, “Tangina, it’s not worth it.” And literally kicked me out of the car. I rolled out onto the street with my shoulder bag which was slung around me the whole time with its remaining contents. The driver suddenly sped away. Till now, I don’t know his motive, whether it be rape or hold up. Or both. Or murder.

So there I was in the middle of the street, barefoot. Then I realized why the hell am I so wet?! I realized I was sitting in a pool of my own blood. There was so much blood dripping from the right side of my head, it was like a half-closed faucet if you get what I mean. I started screaming for help.

This time the apartment I was right in front of lights’ went on. Imagine the horror on these people’s faces as I literally crawled towards them bloodied and barefoot. When I reached out to them for help, I saw my arm. It was covered in blood. And I could feel that I was losing so much more. I asked for a cellphone. I still had the consciousness to call my boyfriend. The people who took me in were nice enough to let me call. They talked to LJ and informed him of what happened. They even cleaned me up. Suddenly there was the barangay people and witnesses. That’s when everything became hazy. The barangay people said that they had to take me to the hospital because I was losing so much blood.

I was taken to Makati Medical Center ER. I still remember as I was being loaded onto the wheelchair the horrified looks of the people outside the hospital. I even had a high school batchmate who was assigned as my nurse, Erika Bautista (THANK YOU SO MUCH). In her own words she said that when I came in I looked like I was already in critical condition. I am not exaggerating when I say this: I WAS LITERALLY COVERED IN BLOOD. Head to foot.

Everything was in a daze after that. All I remember was the blood. Under my nails, on my face, on my hair, on my neck, my chest, my legs, my toes. Even my armpits had blood. Truly, I have never seen so much in my whole life. My face started bruising up so much I could see my right cheek even if I look straight ahead. I also had so much hair falling out because the guy kept on pulling it. But what bothered me was the blood that kept dripping continuously from the right side of my head… and the pain. The doctor said the cut was so deep it LOOKS LIKE I WAS STABBED. It was really bad. I wouldn’t stop crying. I hate the sight of blood and here I am, a walking bloody blob. My first medical gown was drenched in blood. So they had to change it. I changed my medical gown four times before I was discharged. That’s how bad the bleeding was.

When LJ arrived the hospital, I forced myself to be cheerful. I smiled and said “HAPPY MONTHSARY!” It was our 2nd monthsary. Geez what a way to spend it. Till now this hurts me, thinking how ironic the situation is. He said the wounds on my head were like the claw marks in the Jurassic Park movie logo. B, no words can express what I feel towards the situation and how grateful I am that you were there. Basta alam mo na yun.

Anyway, after a few hours, I got a CT scan to detect hemorrhages and X-Rays. Good thing it all came out negative. But I had so many wounds and lacerations on my head. They had to STITCH THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY TEMPLE AND ANOTHER ONE AT THE BACK OF MY HEAD. But there are still minor wounds all over my head, even the inside of my ear has blood till now. Till now my hair is all stiff and sticky from the blood. They shampooed my hair in the hospital but a lot of it still haven’t come out. (I woke up today with dried blood on my pillow).

The first time I saw a mirror, I could not believe my eyes. I thought it was just dirt and dried blood but then I realized I had a giant bruise on my right cheek and deep scratches on my face. I got a Wet One but it just won’t come off. I had to face it, my face was really fucked up. My neck had strangle marks, my jaw was swollen, I had two semi-black eyes, my cheeks were patches of black and blue and the abrasions and cuts were deep on my face. I look like the Bride of Chuckie.

After they sutured me, I became delirious for sometime. Not knowing what I was saying to LJ but he said I was acting strange and started rambling about random things that I don’t remember.

The police came and they got the license plate of the cab DAW from the witnesses but they weren’t sure if it’s accurate. We’re still planning an investigation. I lost my school ID, cellphone, cash and camera. The only things that I salvaged from the incident were my shoes, a brush and a dress. They were covered in blood as well. Now, the question is, are the first and second cab incidents related? Is it a Modus Operandi?

Anyway, I’m out of the hospital now. My body is aching all over and my face looks like Pacquiao practiced on it.

The reason why I am writing this note is TO WARN EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU PEOPLE TO BE CAREFUL. I never ever thought such a thing could happen to me. I thought it only happens in the movies. Imagine, I was just a street away from my home and THIS HAPPENED. A STREET AWAY. Thank God I wasn’t drunk, Thank God the guy did not have weapons (I think), Thank God some kind souls helped me. Thank God I had the presence of mind not to remove his hands from my neck but to scratch his eyes out and reach for the lock. Some girls initial defense would be to un-strangle themselves but I didn’t. I let him strangle me. My main objective was to get the damn door open and escape.

The doctor told my boyfriend I was lucky to be alive, before leaving the hospital. As I was struggling inside the taxi, I did not see the whole “your life flashes before you when you’re dying” thingy.

NO. That’s why I fought against him as much as I could. I told myself over and over again, “NOT TODAY… NOT TODAY… This isn’t how I should die. I’m too good for this.”

I SAW the reason why I should keep on living. That’s why I’m still here today.

Alright, time for me to give my two cents..

Here's the thing: we're not that safe anymore. I'm not saying that we must quit going to these clubs or whatsoever, but the fact is, venturing upon these types of places does not give you the merit of safety, especially with the stories that we're hearing every now and then.

It's a good thing I stopped going to these places. Let's just say that I attuned my sights to other stuff. It's not my thing anymore.

Let me share some pointers for you guys, most notably for the females out there:
1. Before entering a certain venue, take a good look first. It is secure and comfortable enough for everyone? Are all points and exits well lit? Always be prepared to take the exit closest to you.
2. Make a communication plan. Always make it a point to stay in touch with a relative and a friend. Do not wait for trouble to brew in. And do not forget to save a few local emergency numbers to call in. You'll never know what may happen later.
3. React immediately and properly in times of emergency. Stop being idle.
4. Be aware of your alcohol intake. Do not leave your drinks unattended or yet, never accept a drink from a stranger. Mind you, cases of drugging are common in those venues so beware.
5. Avoid walking at night alone. Make it a point to bring two or more friends with you when going to these kinds of places.
6. Get ready for a series of plans for a series of "what ifs..'', like having a safe place nearby to drop in, and the like.
7. Make sure you have enough credits or load to make a call when riding in a private vehicle or taking a cab. (Secure plate # and cab name written on the door sides. Sms it to a family member or a trusted friend once you are in)
8. Avoid taking such actions once you're under the influence.
9. And lastly, NO MINORS ALLOWED..

Guys, time to be proactive about this. It's about time we do something. Do not be a victim. Be vigilant. Spread this news to all your friends and loved ones.

I don't seem stressed doing my system, doesn't it?

Alright, it's quite a busy week for me. We have to complete our preparations for the upcoming defense two weeks from now, and boy oh boy, it gives me a headache. That's why I'm unable to post anything this past week.

Let me make up for those absences, may I?

Let me share something: A friend of mine commented on a post submitted by a friend of his over Facebook. It was an editorial article, pertaining to the current situation that we Filipinos are dealing with. Being an open-minded individual, he gave his own points regarding that article..

...not until some guy replied back, telling him that he's an idiot.

Knowing my friend, he never gave out a single reply. According to him, it's not worth his time to discuss anything with those types of person.

Let me reiterate the guy's comment: My friend, an idiot? Seriously. Man, are you bitter or something?

Okay, here's my thing:

To quote my friend, "We do not need to put the blame on anybody else for this matter. If we desire to actuate change, then it must begin from our end.." The guy replied back in a matter of seconds, asking him: "Then, it is right to not blame the government for your father's death?" Then minutes later, he changed his comment to a stupid "What an idiot." reply..

Let me pose this question to you Carlo Cielo(yep, it was his name): Who placed these officials upon their current positions in the first place? And did you acted on your own behalf to stop these kinds of actions?

For what it is worth, you don't have to blame anyone else if you're fearful enough to seek the change that you desire. This is the problem with us Filipinos: We continuously put the blame on other people, pointing them responsible for all the madness.

In the end, we'll be responsible for all of it. Perhaps we can redeem all those things through the catalyst that is the 2010 elections..

One more thing: Who calls his own brother an idiot?

That's the reason why we're unable to progress. "Crab mentality" ika nga. We're not that willing to correct our brother in a proper manner, but rather, we insult them.

I can't help but laugh at Jamby Madrigal's attack upon Manny Villar and his campaign style.

She pointed out that it is a direct insult to hire known personalities to do his campaign ads for 30 million pesos..

Seriously.. It's quite funny.. In a sense..

Another factor why we're unable to progress: lack of liberal insight.

Come on, it's just a freaking job in the first place Jamby. To quote Ted Failon in his Hoy Gising days, "Trabaho lang, walang personalan.."

It's a common rationale for these personalities to take a job that's worth paying. Well, they have the power to reject the offer if they find the terms and the job itself objectionable. IMHO, I don't think there's something objectionable in Villar's ads.

Seriously, be open minded people. Time for us to shut this stupid conservatism philosophy over the trash.

After a year-long hiatus...

I'm back! With a vengeance! Ahahahahaha!

Just kidding. :P

Seriously, I'm back, and hopefully, this will be for good. I'm quite busy this past year, with the arrival of Capstone Project and a load of weird subjects. Well, that goes with the saying, "If you can't handle the current, then drown yourself.."

Now that I'm back, I'm planning to change my blog's format. Instead of focusing solely on gadget reviews and all that stuff, I'll be sharing to you guys some tidbits, tips and experiences fr. my own regarding... yep... PHOTOGRAPHY..

It became my foremost passion during my year-long hiatus here in Blogger, and it changed me big-time: perspective and personality wise. Not to mention using up a huge load of my money for that hobby, errr...

Happy Fathers' Day!

Greeting you dads a Happy Fathers' Day!

A blessed Sunday everyone! Just wanna greet all of the dads out here a Happy Fathers' Day! :) You deserve this day for all the things that you have done for all of us.

Too bad my Dad's in Italy right now.. Yep, he left a week ago, and it's somehow saddening in my part. But hey, I guess it works for me. Let's just say that I'll be starting to learn how to do things on my own one step at a time..

Alright, enough with that. I have a couple of things to share with you. :)

Yes, I'm quite sure that you've heard or read about this somewhere. San Beda College got suspended for a week after some of its students got infected by the dreaded A(H1N1). It's kind of creepy to say the least, concerning the fact that I am a Bedan as well.

On a positive note, I'll be able to rest up just a bit more before tackling head on this new stage of my college life, plus the fact that I'm safe from the virus. However, we need to adjust to the given situation, and prepare for its consequence academic-wise and schedule-wise.

Oh well.. Let's just hope that this outbreak would end real soon..

Let's talk about waivers shall we?

I was thinking about the entire idea of these waivers and why I hated them in the first place. Weird isn't it? But I have a variety of reasons why.

Here's my thing: These waivers are freakin' sick. They are mainly created for the sole purpose of preventing these institutions from being responsible whatsoever for any incidents or problems that may occur on a certain event or field work.

Of course, these incidents could bring a lot of hassle to these companies and schools. It may bring them somehow to a state of controversy, or even postpone some plans of theirs. However, this eliminates any chance for them to answer any obligations to others concerning these unexpected incidents, thus making it unfair for those who were harmed by it.

True enough, isn't it?

So let me ask everyone in particular: What's your view regarding these waivers?

Good evening fellow bloggers! It's been a while yet again. I can barely touch my blog lately, due to the fact that I maximized my remaining vacation days, and believe me, I'll be unable to get my hands on it like the usual. It's the start of a brand new school year, and boy, I can feel the pressure already.

Nah.. Who's joking? Haha! :) Of course I can do it. Ako pa!

It was a big win for LA Lakers earlier this morning. Yep, as everyone have predicted, the boys from LA finished the race for the crown by making easy work of Orlando Magic. It was a one-sided match to say the least. Guess they have decided not to let their counterparts attack any possible openings by defeating them in a quick manner- as comparable to a gentleman pistol duel. The final score is 99-89.

At last, the Lakers have regained their rightful spot at the throne. The champ is now at LA.

Congratulations to Phil Jackson, Finals MVP Kobe Bryant and the rest of the boys of LA. You deserve it. :)

As of late, the A-H1N1 threat's continuing on its rampage, leaving 150 cases on its trail, with the latest 3 being Mapua Makati students.

God...

Actually, I just received that news from a friend of mine studying at Mapua Intra, saying that his close friend from Makati visited him telling him that their classes were suspended for 10 days.

Boy.. Would these students learn how to prevent trouble? Man, they caused a lot of problems for the academic flow of the said campus.

Let's just hope for the best..

So how was my first day? Well, it was fine, and equally boring to say the least.

Here's what caught my attention: the booming number of new students on our campus. Boy, I'm telling you, that would irritate you.

The flow of these new students was outrageous. We were unable to do our usual tambay sessions, plus the fact that most of these studs were showy bastards. Man, I hate them. Yah, I'm sure you know what I mean.

Because of that, I left San Beda after my last class in a hurriedly motion. I just want to get a breather from all these at home.

I dunno. The numbers weren't like these before. Hmm...

Well, I gotta place a bet on this: the numbers will decrease for next term.. Big time.

Trust me on that.

Hei! It's nice to be back again. I've been dormant for a couple of days, I flew kasi to Davao to enjoy- perhaps -the last days of my vacation. And yeah, as you can see, my hair's kinda long again, haha!

Let's take this opportunity to talk about a lot of things shall we?

So many things have happened, politics and health-wise this week. The Dacer murder case moved in to a frantic level, AH1N1's number of victims continued to increase and the ignition of the Constitutional Assembly which caused the ire of most Filipinos, most notably those who are against GMA and her allies.

As you see, I don't think we need this crap at this moment. It was obviously a scam meant for GMA and her allies to stay in power. A diversion created to prevent any further complications regarding the other issues that they need to answer.

Instead of tackling this issue, why don't they attune their sights upon other important issues, such as education, health matters, the AH1N1 threat and the like? God, they waste their time in congress by discussing this Con-Ass BS with their suede suits and ridiculously-groomed hair.

For what it is worth, what we need is a ladderized solution to all of our problems, not this shit.

Yeah, I know. Orlando Magic suffered a humiliating loss at the hands of the Los Angeles Lakers during the first two games of the NBA Finals.

Let me give some noticeable factors which contributed to their apparent loss:
1. The Lakers are forcing Dwight Howard to do some rigid work inside the court, forcing Orlando to reveal their openings.
2. The Lakers are more experienced when it comes to playing a championship game, plus the fact that they can adapt to various conditions of the ballgame.
3. Orlando's reliance on perimeter shooting could provide them multiple losses.
4. The Lakers have a very effective defense. Unlike the Cavs, they are utilizing their one-on-one strategy to full use to enable them from intercepting other attacks.
5. Kobe Bryant is not Lebron James- he has better moves, intelligent attacks and a wide array of teammates he can rely upon.

Well, based on their game earlier, it would seem that Stan Van Gundy will make some adjustments with regards to Orlando, now that they have experienced first-hand how strong LA could be.

Good evening fellas! Yep, that's a sample pic of mine taken using my new Nikon D40x. I am not that contented with my pics as of now, but there's a lot of room for improvement, isn't it? After all, I've just begun embracing the art of photography.

Anyway, it's been raining like crazy lately, and it's quite annoying to say the least. Actually it's one of my worries regarding school- the frenzy rain, the brewing traffic, new faces and subjects and a lot more.

Just asking: is there any typhoon brewing here in the Philippines?

That's the present count as of late regarding the status of the A-H1N1 virus here in our country. My, the numbers are rapidly increasing each day.

I asked myself: Do we still have to consider ourselves from this threat?

The answer, is a blatant NO.

Apparently, we need to actuate pre-emptive measures to prevent ourselves from catching the virus. Establishments must, at least, try to have some initiatives in answer to the growing toll of A-H1N1's victims. If you can get a vaccine at Mercury Drug, then do so, just to ensure safety for you and your entire family, or probably, your whole community as well.

Let's have a quick lowdown of one of this year's contending teams for the NBA Finals. Yep, I'll be doing these lowdowns till' tomorrow.

Let's start with LA's most celebrated cagers: the Los Angeles Lakers.

The LA Lakers are known for making decisive plays throughout their games, plus their ability to pull up different plays, thanks to their current roster's lineup and the guidance of their surrogate mentor Phil Jackson.

Since their last Finals appearance in 2004, the LA Lakers went on a downspiral, causing Kobe Bryant to consider retiring from the team. But after acquiring a new lineup and support group for Kobe, the Lakers once again proved that they're set to dominate NBA once more.

Let's discuss the team's most notable players:

Kobe Bryant, the team captain, was known for his ability to render penetrating attacks inside the court and to pull up decisive last minute plays for the team. Before, he was a lone gunner, being relied for by most of his teammates. Thanks to his newest comrades, Kobe's strength lately was maximized to his fullest.

Trevor Ariza, one of the Lakers' newest and most powerful assets. He is able to put down rim-shocking attacks and penetrate perimeter shots. He is also an effective team player, having impressive ball-handling skills that lead the team unto producing successive points. Probably he is one of the hottest rookies for this season.

Pau Gasol, the team's resident low post attacker. He is known for his low-post attacks and rebounding power. He also has the strengths and the intellect to match it up against Magic's Dwight Howard. One of the Lakers' winning assets.

Chances are, this will be a close fight, considering the fact that both of these teams share the same fundamental strengths that brought them into this final stage. Whoever wins, I am sure this year's championship series will be a classic.

I was about to cry earlier this morning. I'm on my way to San Beda to enroll, only to experience the worst traffic congestion I've ever seen in my entire life. My friends told me that most of the good sections for our subjects were getting closed, causing me to worry that much for my units this term. I'm almost about to tear myself up inside my car. It's a good thing they asked for my student number- they fixed my schedule and waited for me till' afternoon.

Thank God... I love my friends. :)

It's good to be back! Good evening bloggers! Yep, I know I know.. I've been in hiatus for these past couple of days because I went at Tagaytay to spend the remaining days of this fateful summer season.

Guess I have to fire away with the things that I've missed, shall we?

Most critics were definitely right- both conferences' final series for the NBA ended abruptly before reaching a thrilling seventh game.

The LA Lakers finally dispatched their counterparts, the Denver Nuggets in a spectacular game last Saturday. Los Angeles' most celebrated cagers utilized the Nuggets' seemingly weakening power and loss of agression to their advantage, putting to shame the entire state of Denver. The final score is 119-92.

Meanwhile, the boys of Orlando Magic did the same, utilizing the Cavs' reliance on Lebron James and the misorganization of their team plays to demolish the latter's hope of making it to the finals. The final score is 103-90.

Yep. The stage is now set for a thrilling final showdown between the Los Angeles Lakers and Orlando Magic- the former poised to gain their former glory and the latter willing to prove that they deserve to be a part of NBA's pantheon of legends.

Those motivations will be put to the test come June 4, 9 am ET.

The Katrina Halili-Hayden Kho issue's spiralling out of control, isn't it? It's getting more ridiculous and diluted than ever, with the inclusion of Abner Afuang's drama last Thursday.

Oh boy. Probably for most people, TV's getting more better than ever.

Just one thing noticeable: I guess the senate's jumping on this issue to make their needed "pabango" for next year's elections, isn't it?

Cmon senate peeps, we've got a lot of issues other than that to discuss and alleviate. My God..

I just hope that this scandal thingy would end in a postive note.

Hey everyone! It's a hot and humid Tuesday, and it's quite annoying considering the fact that I just recovered from my fever. I'm still pretty much sensitive to heat- yes, an after-effect of my sickness, I assume.

I drove earlier this afternoon to accompany my Dad at Makati to visit Grandma's grave. It was a serene moment to say the least. We bonded up together upon our arrival, talking about some personal things and the like. He even told me that he's quite slow to see how I've grown so fast, and that I am so much in hurry with my goals in life. Guess he was right. I have grown so fast.

I'll cherish that moment, knowing that he'll be leaving this country next week. Sigh.. I'll miss him badly..

Anyway, I'm not here to be depressed or anything, haha! Let me just give you some NBA updates as of late.

The L.A. Lakers probably has received their most disappointing loss so far in the West Finals series in Game 4 after being demolished that easily by the Denver Nuggets. Just like the Cavs, they were never given a chance to get ahead of their counterparts. The final score is 120-101.

Kobe Bryant's 34 points wasn't enough to give the Lakers a much needed lead for the win. The Nuggets proved that their team plays are neat enough to combat LA's key assets. Smith also proved his prowess within all zones of the court, and showed his ability to create magnificent passes and plays in behalf of Denver's staple ball handler Chauncey Billups.

There are 3 notable moments in the game:
1. Dante Jones was given an intentional foul call after tripping Kobe Bryant on the wooden canvas. He was then ordered to remain on the bench til' the match's conclusion.
2. Both teams suffered from successive foul troubles. It was noticeable that these players were eager to contest bodily contacts in order to hinder the opposing team from delivering their plays.
3. Two Lakers fans were seen in the middle of a big Nuggets Fanatics crowd upon the lower patron section of the Pepsi Center. I guess they were beaten to a pulp outside the stadium.

Yep, I'm better than ever!

Good evening folks! Yep, I am now fully recovered from my previous fever this week. Thank you so much for those who are sending their tweets and messages to me. It helped a lot. Thankies! :)

Since I am much better now, I decided to stroll and drive a little bit at Alabang. God, I never felt better than before!

Let's talk about some things, shall we?

On NBA, the Cavs received their second loss in the Eastern Conference Finals after the Orlando Magic demolished the former with a strong 10-point lead, demoralizing Cleveland's heroes in the process. Varejao and Ilgauskas of Cleveland were fouled out successively during the last quarter of the game, further placing the Cavs in a difficult predicament. Orlando meanwhile, utilized the power of their fans and the Cavs' reliance on Lebron James to deliver their spot-on plays during the game, immobilizing Lebron and his boys to render a lead.

Sad to say, Lebron's 41 points in the basket did not hinder the Magic from their rampage.

Most notable key players from the Magic during that game include Hedo Turkoglu, who delivered placement shots and impressive plays, Dwight Howard, who proved his strength in both the zones of the court, and Rashard Lewis, who showed the Cavs that he is also a threat to reckon with.

The final score is 89-99.

I reflected earlier this morning about some things, including the Hayden Kho-Katrina Halili scandal, since a lot of my friends were discussing about it. To tell you the truth, I am so dead tired of this scandal, due to the fact that it is being talked upon everywhere- literally.

I hope that this would be the last time that I'll be doing my take about that issue here in my blog.

Here are some points or rather, realizations regarding that issue:
1. Somehow, Katrina Halili should blame herself. She brought it upon herself. She was not mindful of the consequences that she might face because of her actions, plus the fact that she dismissed the idea that she is a public figure.
2. Dra. Vicky Belo is the real victim here. She trusted and loved Katrina, as if she's a part of her family. She gave her sponsorships, helped her in her career and so forth, but Katrina repayed her by blatanly stabbing her back. But even though with all these, she remained in-love with Hayden, despite the fact that their relationship's affecting everyone close to her big time, most notably her children.
3. It's impossible to figure out Hayden's real motives here. His statements are so much diluted it hinders us from reading his mindset about this issue.
4. We must be blamed for this as well. Our curiosity and desire to share and watch the videos further cause, in some ways, humiliation to the persons involved in those videos.
5. These TV stations must avoid talking about this issue too much in their news programs. It hinders them from discussing other important news, plus the fact that most of the kids are tuned in to these programs, causing them to be curious enough about sex. TV peeps, try to think about that.

Guess that would be the last I'll discuss that scandal.

Even though I am still sick today, I'll be updating you with the latest NBA news as of late.

The Lakers bounced off from a bad homecourt campaign as they defeated the Nuggets with a final score of 103-97, giving them a 2-1 lead in the series. Successive foul troubles and misorganized plays have brought the Nuggets in this predicament, giving them a bumpy start in their homecourt campaign. Although they have gained an early lead, it was Kobe Bryant and Trevor Ariza's efforts aided by Pau Gasol's inside power that destroyed the advantage that the Nuggets have possessed in the first three quarters.

Kobe Bryant placed 41 points in the basket, while Pau Gasol headed the rebound boards by 11, with Chauncey Billups topping the assists records by 7.

Tomorrow, it's gonna be the Cleveland Cavaliers-fresh from the victorious end of their first two homecourt campaigns- and the Orlando Magic for Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals with the latter gaining the chance to play in their hometown.

A good day bloggers! Yep, I missed doin' this. After 3 days of hiatus, I'm back here on the net. Yeah, I was sick this past couple of days. I've got a fever last Wednesday night, and it ruined big time my entire plans for the weekend. It sucks to be sick. It's a good thing that I'm feeling much better than before.

Alright, so let's cap off the things that I have missed as of late.

The road on the championship crown intensifies as both of the conference finals' series were tied to one a piece.

The Lakers suffered a debilitating defeat from the Denver Nuggets with Carmelo Anthony providing most of the team's needed points. Anthony delivered 34 in the basket, with Kobe Bryant following with 2 points short. The final score is 106-103.

Meanwhile, in the Eastern Conference, it was a complete shocker for everyone as the current season's MVP Lebron James rendered a desperate yet spectacular attack from the three-point lane at the game's very last second, giving the Cavs their first win over Orlando Magic. The score is 95-96. Lebron James proved his power and leadership skills as he hoisted the team to bounce back from their previous loss. However, Orlando proved that they are a force to reckon with after destroying the Cavs' lead in the previous three quarters of the game, thus demoralizing the latter in a state of panic.

Wow. Things are just getting much exciting. As the old adage says, "The game's just beginning.."

Congratulations to Kris Allen, our newest American Idol for this year.

Guess he just proved that he is indeed the Dark Horse of the competition. He pulled an amazing upset over Adam Lambert after convincing the rest of America that he deserves to be crowned as the new idol.

Just like last year, it was the voting power of America that saved Kris Allen from losing the competition.. Nah, I better change that one, since both Adam and Allen are already winners from the very beginning. :)

It was the talk of the week, the issue of the month, and probably the biggest scandal of the year.

Obviously, I am referring to the Hayden Kho sex videos. Actually, I was about to discuss that back then, but I elected myself not to, since I have no idea in what's really going on... until, that is, a friend of mine sent me those vids. It was quite graphic to say the least.

It's disturbing to know that most of us Filipinos are obsessed or probablt frustrated in seeing those vids, plus the fact that this issue has escalated into a higher level, with other people and the authorities having their dibs on it.

Sucks to be you Hayden. Guess you're now paying the price for all the deeds that you have done with your partners- recording these things secretly and underestimating the fact that somebody might just grab them for his own purpose. It's the same thing with Katrina, except that she has no idea that their deed's being recorded and that she's sincere enough to learn from this painful episode and move on from all the disgrace that she received from the public eye.

Let me just quote Bong Revilla's statement before I get to my own take on this issue: "Hayden Kho is the pervert of the highest kind."

Geez.. Aren't we perverts as well? Cmon, we are the ones who jump quickly into the PC to search for these videos. We are the ones who endlessly scour the metropolis to purchase copies of those sextapes. We are the ones who are passing it to our friends like a useless rag doll. Those acts just further add up the humiliation that his partners are suffering as of late.

From what is worth, we don't have the right to completely condemn the persons involved in this scandal. We must take ample time to observe ourselves and realize what is truly right.

I just hope that this media circus will serve as a lesson for Hayden Kho, his partners, and to everyone..

West Finals Game 1 Updates..

Let me give a quick recap of the earlier matchup between the LA Lakers and the Denver Nuggets for their Game 1 in the series.

The LA Lakers utilized all the means that they could muster in delivering their first win against a defiant Denver Nuggets with just a 2-point lead. Kobe Bryant topped the scoreboards with an impressive 40 in the basket, with Carmelo Anthony following by 39. Pau Gasol dominated the rebound boards with 14 rebounds, as opposed to Kenyon Martin's 8. However, despite the loss, Denver's Chauncey Billups proved that he's capable of being a surrogate leader to the Nuggets. His amazing plays and ball handling skills became a threat to LA, hindering them from contesting effective defenses to their shots.

The final score is 105-103.

Good evening everyone! I believe it's the second to the last Tuesday of the month, meaning my summer days are indeed numbered. Yep, four weeks from now and I'll be packin' to school once again. Nah, I guess it's a normal thingy to deal with.

Me and my bro. LA made it a point to stroll at Makati for a while earlier this morning. Let's just say we're dead bored here in Alabang, haha!

I have a lot of things to talk about. Permit me to fire away.

Last May 12, Alec Baldwin appeared in an edition of the Late Show with David Letterman and was asked by the latter about his thoughts on expanding his own family. Alec then proceeded to reply by joking that he'll probably get a mail-order bride from the Philippines or from Russia.

Apparently, this joke caused Sen. Bong Revilla to release a statement telling that if Alec Baldwin ever sets his foot here in our country, he'll be beaten to a pulp and exposed to the real definition of mayhem.

Here's my thing: as you see, there's a very thin line between a comedic expression and an insult. As a comedian, you must know how to juggle that line up, considering the fact that you might just offend people. On the other hand, I don't think we have to take Baldwin's joke that seriously. It's a freakin' joke people, unlike the article released by that gay whatsisname Chao. Fact is, we're doing the same thing when it comes to other cultures isn't it? Let us also consider the fact that whenever we say something very offensive to other countries, they brush it off immediately, as if they've heard or read nothing. We're just over-reactive or probably, much vulnerable than other countries. I think we just have to learn the art of brushing off a joke like that.

On the other hand, Sen. Bong Revilla doesn't need to react that way. This just proves his ignorance of the reality that exists within our country, or probably his guilt over that certain fact.

I'm not saying that I'm not a Filipino. It's just that we're unable to do something to, at least, clean our image. The cause: poverty. Without the stigma of poverty, probably Alec won't even mention Filipinos on that joke. We must do something to reshapen our image and prove our decency above other cultures. Got my point?

Another thing: Bong, instead of focusing your energy on that joke, why don't you go out of your house and do something to alleviate some of the issues that we're suffering from? Use your head mister.

Sigh.* So much for that one.

Tomorrow, we'll bear witness to the final showdon between Idol hopefuls Adam Lambert and Kris Allen in American Idol, and I am so much excited about it.

As far as AI's concerned, both of them have dominant strengths over the other. Kris is an ideal musician, able to play different instruments and juggle through a variety of styles, while Adam is a total performer, a flashy rocker that has the charisma to wow the crown with his own vocal power.

The big question is this: will they be able to prove out those strengths tomorrow? That we'll have to find out.

But hey, one thing's for sure: Simon's expression will never change even a bit I'm telling you, haha!

Alright, let me finish my NBA updates for today.

The match between the Celtics and Magic was put to a close in the last 3.8 seconds of the final quarter as the Orlando Magic dispatched the defending champions off their campaign, leading to a fated clash against the Cleveland Cavaliers this Wednesday. The final score was 101-82.

Hedo Turkoglu headed the Magic in the scorecards and assist boards, contributing 25 points in the basket and 12 assists for the team with Ray Allen and Rajun Rondo of Boston following with 2 points and assists short. Dwight Howard proved himself as the rebound king for that night, putting an impressive 16 rebounds in the records.

Yep, folks. We are now getting closer towards the NBA Finals, and it's going to be as much exciting than before. :)

Quick NBA updates!

I missed doing this. Alright, let's cap off today's posts with a quick NBA lowdown.

Yesterday, we witnessed a spectacular death match as the LA Lakers demolished the Houston Rockets with a 19-point lead, giving them the ticket towards the Western Conference finals to face the waiting Denver Nuggets. Pau Gasol made most of the needed points and rebounds for the team, contributing 21 in the basket and 18 in the rebound boards with Aaron Brooks and Ron Artest following short by 13 and 8 respectively.

Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics seem to be the underdogs in Game 7. The Orlando Magic displayed successive team plays and rallies, giving them a five point lead against Boston. It's all down to 66-61 as of late, bringing the third quarter to a close.

Alright, that's about it. Expect more NBA updates in a bit, so stay tuned for that!

Probably it's the talk of the weekend, and perhaps a moment that everyone will remember in ages.

Yep, I'm talking about the David VS David Concert yesterday at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds.

It was a great concert. I cannot easily express in words the emotions that I've felt during the event. It's a one time -big time moment that would last for a lifetime.

Before attending the concert, we decided to hang out a little together with L.A. and my Mom and Dad- who surprisingly, secretly bought out a ticket for his own. It's nice to know that my Dad's there. It's a moment that I'll cherish since he's about to leave days from now.

Anyway, the back-to-back concert kicked off with David Archuleta. It's fun knowing that most of his songs were crowd favorites. Guess the event's in favor of the younger David isn't it? Haha! After Archie finished his thing, Cook and the band followed shortly, delivering an awesome performance that wowed the crowed even more.

Probably the most memorable and pivotal part of the concert was when David Cook sang his last song for the event. He dedicated "A Daily Anthem" to his deceased brother Adam, which caused most of the audience to be touched a bit. He even asked Archie to come over to the stage and sing it with him. And as you all know it, a duet ensued within the very finale of the event, and it was awesome. It was very emotional to say the least.

I can say that this is the most memorable concert I've ever attended in contrast to the previous major performances that I've seen.

I have to say, it's for the ages. :)

A good day fellow bloggers! It's sad to know that I've got 30 days left for this summer vacation. Sigh.* I guess I can cope with that, since I'm a little bit excited na din naman for my third year in Beda, haha!

You might just wonder: Why the heck would I give such a title as that? Well, I'll discuss that in just a bit in connection to my NBA updates.

Let's cap off this post first with some playoff news.

Indeed, today's a complete shocker for most NBA fans as 2 of the most exciting playoff series were tied to 3 a piece, leaving our mouths agape for their conclusion.

The Houston Rockets proved earlier that they are poised to grab the NBA Championship even without their key players as they dominated the LA Lakers with a 15-point lead, tying the series off prior to a death match this Sunday(Eastern time) at Staples Center. Aaron Brooks lead the Rockets with an impressive 26 points for the team, following short to Bryant's 32. The Lakers dominated most of the Statistic Boards, but the Rockets pulled an upset near the end of the game to deliver a spectacular win.

Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics fell incapacitated to the rampaging comeback of Orlando Magic after suffering a 83-75 loss to the latter. Dwight Howard made full use of their homecourt advantage, capping the statistic boards with 26 points and 22 rebounds, with Rajun Rondo following with 5 points and 6 rebounds short.

This is getting more exciting that we've expected. Guess we have to wait for a double thriller this Sunday.

I'll miss my Dad... Sigh.*

He'll be leaving kasi the country next week in conjunction to his job. He'll be away to Italy for a couple of months or more.

I know, I know. It's quite short for an absence but you see, I really love my Dad. A big chunk will be dropped off from my own knowing that I'll have to cope with missing my buddy, my first mentor, my closest friend..

He's not just a dad.. He's more than just that.

Sorry if I'm acting like this. I'm quite sensitive when it comes to these things. Mababaw lang ako kung umiyak at malungkot kumbaga.(I have a tendency to cry and be saddened that easily.)

Guess we have to learn how to hold on with a ball and release it when the proper time comes..

Good evening bloggers! I'm so much excited for Saturday. My mom just bought three tickets for the David VS David concert- one for Mom, my bro. LA and the last one for me. :) Yey, I'll get to see these two huge stars perform live in front of our sights.

I'll discuss something about that in just a bit. Let's have a quick rundown first of the latest NBA and AI updates.

It was a not-so-shocking and disappointing moment as the Denver Nuggets capped off their fourth win against the Dallas Mavericks, earning them a ticket towards the Western Conference Finals, awaiting the winner of the Lakers-Rockets series. Dirk Nowitski's 32 points weren't able to do as much to cap away from their 14-point deficit.

I was so much disappointed, due to the fact that I really hate the Nuggets(excluding Billups) because of their pathetic hardcourt attitude. I know that some of you share the same sentiment as I do.

Tomorrow we'll see if the Lakers and the Celtics can finish off their respective series prior to their conferences' finals.

Sorry for the Danny Gokey fans, but he was the last one to be slashed off from American Idol, leaving Kris Allen and Adam Lambert for the final faceoff next week. Guess it was Danny's lousy dance moves that caused him his eviction, haha! Just kidding!

Come May 20, we'll have to embrace a new idol. I'm putting a grand for Adam Lambert. He's gonna be the next American Idol.

Yep, that's a bold prediction. :)

Speaking of AI, this Saturday, the two Davids will shake the entire MoA Open Grounds as they'll perform in front of thousands of Filipinos for the much-awaited David VS David concert.

And I'm not just talking about any Davids out there. It's David Archuleta and David Cook people.

It's fun to know that a lot of Filipinos were going crazy and gaga over the Davids, myself included. There's something about these two Idols that makes the entire Philippines go frenzy for them- a testament to how huge they are already.

It's a good thing Mom reserved Titanium-class tickets for the 3 of us. Mom indeed has connections and the grands to go for it, haha!

Well, I certainly assure you peeps, it'll be all worth your buck.

Good evening peeps! So much has happened(I believe) earlier, with the NBA Playoffs getting more exciting as the Semifinals for both conferences nears its end, and of course with AI having its final week before the faceoff.

So how was my day? Well, it's great. I hanged out a bit with my Puffy earlier at SM North Edsa and afterwards, at Eastwood. It was really fun being with him. :)

Alright, let's cap off with my usual updates.

Let's have a lowdown on the NBA games that occurred earlier this morning(Eastern Time).

The Boston Celtics proved to everyone that they deserve being the defending champions after crushing Orlando Magic with a 4-point lead to claim their 3rd win in the series. Glen Davis was the top scorer for the game, providing 22 points for Boston, while Dwight Howard dominated the rebound boards with 17 rebounds.

Meanwhile, the L.A. Lakers bounced off from their last game after defeating a T-Mac and Yao-less Houston Rockets. The score: a one-sided 118-78. Kobe Bryant earned 26 points, with Aaron Brooks following with 12 points short.

The standing for both teams who won earlier: 3-2. Just one win away to continue their campaign towards their respective conferences' finals.

I have a lot of things to say about AI, but since I can't just contain them in one post, let me take an article from AI's official site to do the detailed rundown instead.

It was man vs. man vs. man Tuesday on American Idol as Danny Gokey, Kris Allen and Adam Lambert took the stage for the first all-guy semifinal in show history.

Some might call it the best Top Three ever. We're still bummed about losing Allison Iraheta last week, but at least each guy has had at least a moment or two over the course of season eight that won him passage to be here, performing on Idol's 300th episode.

With the count down to three, each fella was tasked with performing two songs, including a tune handpicked by the judges.

This year, during their hometown visits, each contestant found out via text message what Paula Abdul, the team of Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi, and Simon Cowell wanted him to sing. Danny may have never heard of the number Paula picked, but here's how he did...

Danny: We're puzzled as to why Paula picked yet another upbeat, punchy feel-good tune for Danny to sing (he's done a lot of those), but at least the lad redeemed himself from last week with his energetic vocal on Terence Trent d'Arby's "Dance Little Sister." Opting for some midsong scatting rather than an ill-conceived high note, he was great to listen to—and even watch, because we don't mind when he dances—from start to finish. "Let the games begin!" Randy announced. Kara praised Paula for keeping Danny's voice in the "money spot," but Simon found the dancing "a bit desperate."

• Smart, smart, smart choice for song No. 2. Danny is so much more likeable when he's just sitting there, singing form the heart, as he did with Joe Cocker's version of Billy Preston's "You Are So Beautiful." His falsetto was spot-on, so we finally got a little range going there, and overall, this tune helped beef up his résumé should he make it to the finale. "Everything you didn't do the first time, you just did...Stunning," Kara said. "You left all of us breathless," Paula said, while Simon called it a "vocal master class."

Kris: The beloved David Archuleta sang "Apologize" by One Republic last year, but...Oh, well. Plopped down at the piano, the fresh-faced surprise finalist (going on his initial impression way back when) turned in a perfectly serviceable rendition of the chart-topper. His vocal was lush and smooth, but it just a mirror version. Kara—who picked the song for him, along with Randy—called it a "competent performance," but thought he should've taken more chances. Hmmm... Of course, Simon then called Kara out for expecting Kris to do something extra special with their middling song choice.

• Hmmm, Danny just got a run for his money because Kris rose so high above the occasion...he managed to top Kanye West. His acoustic take on the rapper's "Heartless" was awesome—and Randy now prefers Kris' to the original version. The vocals were great, the beat was even better... Maybe we have short memories, but this put us in Kris' camp for the opportunity to sing it out against Adam. Reitering his earlier opinion about Kara and Randy's "lame" choice, Simon said that he had written Kris out after performance No. 1. "That, however, has all changed," he concluded.

Adam: Way to work those U.K. connections, Simon. The Brit secured Bono's blessing for Adam to wail on U2's "One"...and the glamfab finalist, true to form, wailed like a pro. His performance brought tears to our eyes--admittedly due in part to the awesomeness of the song, but also because of the sweet, sweet timbre of his voice. Adam probably didn't need to delve into Freddie Mercury territory on this mellow classic, but it was still a completely polished, entirely pleasing performance. Simon deemed it "a brilliant, brilliant performance. If you're not in the final, it will be one of the biggest upsets."

• Television—not to mention the wee CBS soundstage—is too small for Adam Lambert. Dude needs an arena. Taking on one of his own idols (and perhaps showing Danny up a bit), he bit into Aerosmith's "Cryin'" with that incomparable level of assurance that makes him a performer you take interest in every second he's up there, doing his thing. "You're one of the best that we've ever had on this stage," Randy said. Kara remained in awe of Adam's high notes, Paula mixed her metaphors and Simon offered this public service announcement: "It's very easy to assume you're going to sail through to the finale...but people shouldn't assume, they should vote...You deserve to be there."

Whew, what a night! One of the guys will be eliminated tomorrow night, whether you're ready to let him go or not.

Yup, I'm on the driver's seat :)

Good aftie everyone! It's a hot Tuesday afternoon isn't it? My, it's so freaking humid it makes me wanna go to the shower almost 3 times a day. Well, I guess we just have to be patient enough since this season's nearing its end to make way for the rainy blues.

How was my day yesterday? Well, it was all good. I visited my cousins at Bel Air, Makati and it was really great. My aunt kasi just got home last Saturday and she invited me to come over for a special dinner with Mom and Dad, but since they're busy and with my 3 other siblings having an awkward mood, well I went there all by myself to snatch all the fun, haha!

Later on I'll be driving again. I have to go to Trinoma to buy some stuff there. :)

Alright, nuff' with that. Let's fire away some up-in-a-minute NBA updates and other things out there.

Cleveland fans you can scream your heads off right now. Yep, they made a complete sweep after adding their fourth and most spectacular win over the Atlanta Hawks with a score of 84-74 in the former's favor. As usual, Lebron James dominated the scoreboards together with Atlanta's Josh Smith, scoring 27 and 26 points respectively. Now they are heading towards the Eastern Conference Finals to face the winner of the Celtics-Magic series.

Meanwhile, in the Western Conference, the Dallas Mavericks delivered a huge upset after defeating the Denver Nuggets with a slight 2-point lead. Dirk Nowitski is the main scorer for the game, making an impressive 44 points for that game. The big question for the Mavs is, can they pull off yet another win against a rampaging Nuggets?

That we'll see this Thursday morning, Eastern Time.

Speaking of the Nuggets, I've read an article on the net telling that a scuffle occurred between the Mavs' owner Mark Cuban and Denver Nuggets' Kenyon Martin.

For those who do not know Kenyon Martin, he's the one with the no. 4 jersey in Denver, being their PF(Power Forward). He was known to some hardcourt fans as K-Mart.

The article says that Mark Cuban approached Kenyon's mother, who was watching his son's game near the Nuggets' bench that the Denver Nuggets' players are all thugs, including Kenyon and excluding Billups. This caused Kenyon to go irate and release a bold statement, telling that he does not need to go all the way through this media frenzy, but he'll "take care" of things his own way.

My.. That's such a threat. That just proves Martin's real attitude outside the court.

And apparently, that's what I hate with most of the Nuggets. Most of them act like they're demigods or something, most notably Carmelo, who acts as if he's someone larger than life or probably, than Kobe and Jordan.

Can you please just drop those stupid nuances and act like real players? I'm assuring you, that attitude will bring the team to jeopardy if ever, or more probably, hinder them from reaching the finals.

As for Mark Cuban, I think he made a mistake telling such a remark to Kenyon's mom. Let the players do the stuff, don't involve yourself too much if you know you'll trample other people.

Hai.. Nuff' with that. Let's move on.

Regarding the Rihanna nude photos, Chris Brown's side released a statement telling that he's not responsible for the leakage of the pics.

I don't think so..

There are 3 things about this ample scandal:
1. It could be that someone hacked or stole Rihanna's pics from her phone or PC and uploaded it somewhere.
2. She got a scuffle with a close friend whom she entrusted those pics, causing the latter to leak it. Or:
3. ...Chris Brown leaked them in order to get back at Rihanna.

That's my assumptions regarding the leakage. As of now, Rihanna's camp requests the sites who posted them to take them down immediately.

I think this is too much. It is much degrading in Rihanna's part.

I guess the plot just continue to thickens as time passes.

So, without any further ado, let me fire away.

Since I was unable to give some NBA updates this weekend, permit me to do so.

Yesterday, Cleveland proved to Atlanta that they have the edge within the series despite the latter's homecourt advantage as they demolished the Hawks once more with an impressive score of 97-82. Lebron James dominated the statistics board as he made 34 points and 10 rebounds for the game, posting a 3-0 standing. Meanwhile, the Nuggets remained superior against the Mavericks, defeating them in their 3rd game with a 1 point lead, having the same standing as the Cavaliers.

As for LA and Houston, the series has been tied to 2-2 after the Rockets displayed an explosive performance in the game, crushing the Lakers with a 13 point lead. Aaron Brooks of the Rockets dominated the scoreboard, with Pau Gasol of the Lakers following with 4 points short. The Celtics did the same as with Houston, effectively defeating their counterparts(Orlando Magic) with a 95-94 win, tying the series to 2 a piece as well.

Last Saturday, I found something that shocked me up.

Apparently, a blog site posted some leaked nude pictures of Rihanna. At first I though that they were fake. However, after observing the pictures carefully, I realized that it's truly her, given her figure and facial qualities.

God, this will be a rough year for her. After suffering a severe beatdown from Chris Brown following an altercation and with all the court drama, now she has to explain all these.

Guess we have to assume that the culprit behind all these is none other than Chris Brown. Of course, most exes' way to get back at their girl after an altercation is to, obviously, post their nude pictures somewhere on the net.

So much for the drama..

About that Techie Blog that I mentioned in one of my posts, me and my Puffy Yuri decided to drop that in favor of a new blog that will feature a novel in the works. The two of us shared ideas with regards to the story, and right now we're down to 13 chapters.

To A Mom, From Her Princess..

Yeah, she's the best mom ever..

Since tomorrow will be Mother's Day, I would like to take this ample opportunity to thank the biggest influence in my life and probably one of the greatest reasons to smile.

My Mom..

She inspired me in every single point of my life. She became an unwavering light upon my path, my very best friend, and the one I can truly come to in the very end.

Let me recall an excerpt from my childhood days. I was still a tomboyish girl back then. I never cared whenever I hurt myself while playing with my friends. At the end of the day, I'll suddenly cry in anguish, remembering how painful the wounds that I took. Mom would then approach me, tend my wounds and say, "Minsan kasi mahalin mo naman sarili mo." (Sometimes you have to love yourself.)

Yah. I always tend to forget that. Mom keeps me in check whenever I have that certain tendency of mine.

I also recall that time when I was so depressed because of my failed relationship with Rei. I was alone, crying so much in my room when Mom suddenly came in. She hugged me tight and told me, "There are a lot of reasons to stop crying and smile."

She's right. Dead right. I'm just so stupid as a daughter to forget those things. I always make mistakes and I think I've disappointed my whole family as well when it comes to academics and other stuff, assuming in my part that they expect so much from me because I'm the first-born of the family. But yet Mom never showed any signs of disappointment or anger. Instead she would give a simple remark, telling that it's just okay.

"God gives everyone a second chance. No matter how you fall, just try to stand up. I'll be there to extend my hand for you, simply because I love you."

Yeah, that was an excerpt from my Mom's graduation letter in High School. Yup, she never fails to pick me up whenever I fall.

Thank you so much Mom! Probably, you and Dad were the greatest gifts God gave to me. You'll be always here in my heart. I love you so much! :)

More NBA Updates :)

Good evening everyone! Alright, let's have a quick rundown of the latest NBA updates. :)

Earlier this morning(Philippine time), the Cleveland Cavaliers dispatched their conference semifinals counterparts so easily by duking an impressive 105-85 win over the demoralized Atlanta Hawks. Lebron James contributed 27 points for the team, with Andre Varejao following by 8 points.

However, West was taken out of the game after suffering a serious eye injury during the third quarter of the game. But as likely as it seems, it did not affect the Cavs' impressive perfomance against a seemingly powerless Atlanta. As of late, the series is now 2-0, in favor of Cleveland. Their next game will be this Saturday(American time), with the Hawks gaining the hometown advantage.

Meanwhile, tomorrow the Boston Celtics will face Orlando Magic within the latter's homecourt, while the Lakers will face the Rockets at Houston for their respective third games in the series. This Sunday, Dallas will duke it out once more against Denver, with the latter having the homecourt advantage.

A good day fellow bloggers! Today's quite rainy due to the impending arrival of Typhoon Emong. I believe most summer classes(and some regular classes) were cancelled already due to the storm. My dad's about to go home already as well. He just gave me a call saying that they have abruptly cancelled all their work for today because of Emong.

So much for this storm. Let me fire away some updates with regards to AI and NBA.

Hours earlier, Alisson Iraheta was voted off from American Idol after belting out an electric rendition of "Cry Baby" last Tuesday night.

It was a complete shocker to say the least. Everyone was expecting Danny Gokey to be slashed out of the competition but instead, it was Alisson who took the heart-breaking dismissal.

Guess those performances by Daughtry, No Doubt and an idol-stage debuting Paula Abdul were unable to hide the eventual conclusion for today's elimination night.

The remaining Idol hopefuls are Adam Lambert, Kris Allen and Danny Gokey. For next week, they'll be performing 2 songs- one of their choice and the other one being the judges' pick. I say, you have to hold on to AI simply because of the fact that the next elimination night will determine who will face each other for the exciting finale of American Idol. The next Idol then will be crowned come May 20.

Things are getting more exciting as ever in AI.

As for the NBA, the Boston Celtics pulled off an impressive upset after belting out an amazing 114-94 win over Orlando Magic just hours earlier. Guess that just proves the fact that the Celtics' defense over the crown isn't over yet.

Meanwhile, the LA Lakers did the same thing, bouncing back from their earlier loss through an 111-98 win over the Houston Rockets. The next game for these two teams will be held at Houston's Toyota Center.

This year's Playoffs are getting more exciting. Well, guess we have to stick to NBA even further as the Finals are about to come weeks from now.

Getting ready..

Good evening everyone! I was unable to get touch with my PC yesterday, due to the fact that I prepared myself for my High School batchmate's debut, plus the fact that I have to help her as well with the proceedings. I'm the hostess kasi. :) Well, it was a great party. Almost all of my fourth year classmates attended the said party. It's one of those rare moments where all of your friends make it a point to catch up with everyone. It was just awesome.

Anyway, so much has happened lately. Let's get to them right away. :)

I just wanna congratulate Lebron James for grabbing the MVP for this year's NBA season. Yep, King James just proved to everyone that he is poised alongside with his teammates to reach the desired championship crown.

Now that the first round of the playoffs are over, let us have a quick recap of what just happened within the start of the Conference Semifinals:

Eastern Conference:
Cleveland- 1
Atlanta- 0

Orlando- 1
Boston- 0

Western Conference:
L.A. Lakers- 0
Houston- 1

Dallas- 0
Denver- 2

Seems that the Lakers have gone through a bumpy start together with Dallas, who suffered 2 losses from a defiant Denver Nuggets. Boston was welcomed with a hard remark, as Orlando demolished the defending champs with a five-point lead last Monday, while everything seemed quite easy for Cleveland after grabbing a 99-72 win over Atlanta.

Well, let's just say that things are just getting started for all the remaining participants for this year's playoffs.

Moments ago, I found this two bizaare news articles about gaming. Let me share them to you:

1. A Shanghai-based gamer(let me name him Qiu) lent an in-game item called Dragon Saber to his gamer friend(let's call him Zyu.). However, Qiu discovered that Zyu sold the item to a fellow gamer during a PVP session. That prompted Qiu to report the in-game incident to the police. However, they just ridiculed him. In a desperate(and crazy) attempt, Qiu approached Zyu in his house and stabbed him directly in the chest, killing him.

Zyu's parents pushed through with their search for justice, giving Qiu a suspended death sentence.

God.. That kid's probably insane. He killed someone just for that in-game item? That's so pathetic.

2. A European female World of Warcraft gamer made a shoutout in the game that she wants to get hold of a large sum of gold from anyone. In exchange, she will make love with those who are willing enough to share that sum of gold.

However, it seemed that she got the gold, but no one got her.

It seems that everybody has forgotten the H1N1 virus in favor of Manny's victory over Hatton. I guess his big win just relieved us of the horrors of this threat temporarily.

The big question is: Do we have to be alarmed of it?

The answer, as always, is an obvious YES.

As of late, this virus has already entered some parts of Asia, most notably HK and Taiwan, which means that it might just spread among other parts of this continent.

I just hope that the health authorities will make precautionary measures against the H1N1 virus, before everything ends in a wide-scale crisis.

Well, do you think the description above's quite true? Haha! So how was my day? Let's just say that this week started a little bit boring as opposed last Monday. Guess all the excitement and the tenacity that I've felt were all been eaten up by the Pacquiao Vs Hatton bout, haha!

I don't know if you feel the same way as I do, but I'm a bit oversaturated already hearing nothing on radio and on TV but Manny's flawless victory over his opponent yesterday. I know, I know, we should be glad for this but the fact is, people will eventually get tired of this, knowing that the same news and topic goes all over and over again. I may sound a bit hypocrite there but what I'm saying is quite true, isn't it?

But on the bright side, I guess it just shows how we Filipinos are appreciative of what he has done for our nation. Let's just bear with that, and perhaps celebrate with all the other Filipinos out there. After all, Manny deserves all these media props and accolades.

It's funny how these celebrities who are present for that fight reacted through their tweets in Twitter.

One notable celebrity was Mariah Carey. Her tweets about the fight said that "This is quite violent, I can't even know what to say.", and that it was "Unbelievable"- referring to Pacquiao's awesome victory.

I miss my long hair... *Sigh..

Yah, I really do miss my long hair, haha! Good evening everyone!

I guess the entire Philippines exclaims in joy right now as Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao stopped time itself in a decisive knockout win over Ricky "The Hitman" Hatton. It was a complete shocker, given the fact that everyone's expecting for a good fight. Guess Hatton underestimated the Filipino power. Cheers for that!

Since it's quite unrelative if I discuss something else today, let us pass from those "other" things and talk about.. well... boxing and Manny himself, haha!

It's a good thing we have the Solar All-Access channel on our TV. It made us avoid the hassles and the annoyances brought by GMA-7's coverage of the bout.

Here's what I hate about these VHF channels when they cover a big event like this: a bunch of senseless commercials.

I mean, cmon. They eat up the time being spent by the actual fight, plus the fact that it delays big time the supposed-to-be "live" coverage of the event, thus making those who are unable to catch in on an exclusive channel like Solar All-Access and those who can't even afford to watch the fight on a theater/closed stadium/bar/restaurant think that a 36-min. fight lasted over 4 gruelling hours of stupid airtime.

Well, you can't just blame them. Since they are sponsoring Pacquiao for this fight, we're left with no choice but to be patient enough for these commercial ads.

So much for that..

It's a star-studded night for Mandalay Bay Arena as known artists, celebrities, sports figures and even fellow boxers graced the 20,000+ audience for the Pacquiao-Hatton bout.

We can assume that most of them weren't a boxing fan at all, but after Pacquiao made a huge mark on the scene, it just seemed that they were curious enough to see how Manny Pacquiao deals with a fight and why he was able to reach the pinnacle of his boxing career.

The known figures who are present for that bout include Jack Nicholson, Jay-Z, P.Diddy, Mariah Carey, Adam Sandler, Kobe Bryant, and a lot more.

It's also cool to know that WWE superstar and fellow Filipino Dave Batista made it a point to join Pacquiao's entourage prior to his entry to the ring. What's funny was that I thought that Manny asked Batista to join his entourage in order to give Hatton a debilitating Spinebuster, or a Batista Bomb perhaps, haha!

Guess that's how popular Pacquiao already is.

Anyway, what's noticeable is the huge number of Brits that were present earlier for the fight. According to most estimates, almost 25,000 Brits flew over to US for the event. Unfortunately, an estimated 15,000 Brits made it inside Mandalay Bay Arena.

Yup, I know. We are clearly the underdogs in the numbers game.

I guess that simply nails down the fact that most of these Brits have the grands to watch a PPV like this, as opposed to us Filipinos.

Somehow you'll ask yourself, "Grabe, ganito na ba tayo kahirap?"

At least, I know deep inside that even if most of us Filipinos don't have the grands to board a plane for the bout, we'll always find a way to support our hero in a manner that is comparable to a live PPV experience.

That's how strong the Filipino spirit can be.

For those who are unable to catch up the fight, let me post the entire main event here. :)

It's clearly a one-sided affair between two great boxers. No doubt that both of them are talented fighters but that doesn't change the fact that Manny definitely is the greatest fighter of this era. Probably, we can say that he's the best boxer of all time.

From the very beginning of the match, it is quite noticeable that Hatton is up for an unfathomable challenge: He is the weaker of the two. He is much slower, uncoordinated and rough unlike Manny, who just completed the phases of becoming a true boxer.

Let us discuss the factors that brought Hatton to his second defeat:

1. Absence of fight plan for the bout. It seemed that the Hatton who fought against Manny was the Hatton who fought Mayweather and those other fighters before. Nothing's entirely new. He fought the fight his own way, abandoning his 2-month training under Mayweather Sr. If there's a fight plan, surely, we could've seen something unexpected or new from the Hitman, but then again, it all seemed that he did not prepared for Manny.
2. Conflict between Ricky and his trainer. It was reported a day before the fight that Hatton unexpectedly weren't in good terms with Mayweather Sr. That further ignited my point above perhaps. We could theorize that this was caused by differences in some viewpoints regarding their fight plan. This same reason might caused Mayweather Sr.'s bad blood with his boxer son.

I don't need to discuss the factors behind Manny's big time win, haha! I'm pretty sure everyone knows those reasons.

Guess Mayweather Sr. ate up all of his words, haha!

Good morning dear bloggers! Yep, today is the day folks. Minutes from now we will be witnessing the clash between the Pacman and the Hitman in a gruelling 36-min. fight that would determine a lot of things for these 2 fighters.

Anyway, so how was my Saturday? Well, actually we visited our house here in Batasan, Q.C. It's fun reminiscing those old times. We lived here kasi till' I became a 4-yr. old kid. So there. We stayed here last night, while bonding it up with some of our relatives including my close cousins. After we finish the Pacquiao-Hatton fight, probably we would leave to return to Alabang.

And those were the days..

Minutes from now we will bear witness to a brutal reckoning between two of the world's greatest fighters, with one goal in mind- to prove that they are the best.

Indeed, it would be proven later as our very own Manny Pacquiao would take on Ricky Hatton for the Welterweight Belt and for the much coveted Pound for Pound title.

3 things will be proven tonight:
1. One's power to touch a million lives.
2. The mentor's ability to give their foster sons the particular wisdom they need to stand up high in the end of it.
3. The fighter's will and strengths to claim his deserved glory.

Hello dear bloggers! It's the first day of the month of May, and the start of a long weekend for most people, haha! I can say that I enjoyed this day so much with my buddies. We hanged out earlier at ATC, doing our usual and fun mall thingies. :) We also made it a point to watch the movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which is quite cool by the way. I'll be discussing about that movie in just a bit. :)

What bothers me today is the fact that this vacation's approaching its end too swiftly. Guess I was blinded by how I enjoyed this summer vacation that I'm unable to notice how time flew fast. Well, guess we just have to go on with the flow.

I have a lot of things to talk about. So, shall I bring them up?

Last night, my Puffy Yuri's group messages reminded me of my own fandom of the Final Fantasy series. Yep, I am also a fan of the aforementioned series. You see, there's something in Final Fantasy that I can't just let go, and perhaps, will be a part of my life forever.

So how does a Final Fantasy story work? Well, let me explain it in a simple context. Each Final Fantasy universe faces a deadly threat which would threaten their existence. As with all its incarnations, a hero/heroine/heroes will be drawn into the conflict, and serve as a hope against the threat, while embarking on an adventure on their own. On the way, the heroes will face their inner conflicts regarding their morals and past, which would eventually open them to their destiny as saviors of their respective universe.

Perhaps, FF was the darkest/most deep of all the RPG series that I've followed. I've also learned a lot of things and realizations from FF that helped me with my life. I know that I'm sounding dramatic already but that's the truth... and probably the same reason why I love the series.

Let me recall some of my fave/notable FF moments:

The death of Aeris. It was the most touching scene I have ever seen in a game. God, I can't believe that they would kill a lovable character like her. Guess it was a difficult editorial decision made to explain Cloud's hatred against Sephiroth.

The reunion scene in FF-IX, where Zidane rekindled his bond with Garland at the end of the game. It was a "klilig" moment for me, haha!

FFX-2's opening intro. It was one of the best opening sequences I have ever seen, with Yuna performing on stage with a huge audience. You might not admit it, but most fanboys loved that scene, haha!

FFVII Crisis Core's final scene, in which Zack dies and bids his final farewell to cloud. God, I've had enough of these sad moments in gaming. I cried a bit after watching that scene. It made me cherish the FF series even more.

Dissidia: Final Fantasy's opening sequence. It was a dream come true for most FF fans, as the primary protagonists of all the FF games from 1 to 11 united as one to battle the forces of Chaos and his own league of primary antagonists from the mentioned FF games. It was awesome.

So much for my FF fandom, haha! Well, gotta love Final Fantasy, and I'm quite sure it's here to stay.

As I've mentioned above, I'll discuss the newest spin-off in the X-Men movie franchise, X-Men Origins: Wolverine. As the title suggested, the film centered on Logan's birth as a mutant and his evolution into the X-Man known as Wolverine.

It was a good film. What I hated about this film anyway is the killing of known X-Men characters such as Gambit and Silver Fox, and the unexplained details behind the eponymous Weapon + project, which Logan eventually became a part of. Another thing: the action sequences blurred some important parts of the plot.

Don't get me wrong though. It served justice on Wolverine's basic origin story as a mutant. I assume that everything will be explained much further when its sequel arrives. I just hope that the sequel would do much better than this one.

I'll give this movie a grade of 7/10. :)

A cold evening dear bloggers! I just went out earlier with my brother to Makati to visit some friends and of course, have a date with him. :) Well, it's my chance to bond more personally with my brother while doing our usual mall thingies. :)

Today's the last day of the month of April- yup, it marks the end of the summer season as well. Most people have awaited for this day, simply because it's pay day. I guess that explains the traffic beside from the rain thingy as a reason, haha!

I have some things to share with you, so permit me to fire them away.

Speaking of Dona Victorina, I believe she and Brian Gorell are asking the help of everyone to locate the whereabouts of his ex-boyfriend and known scammer Dj Montano.

Let us recall everything. Dj Montano took away almost all of Brian Gorell's life savings and left him with nothing. He eventually fled to USA because of disgrace. It was a much publicized issue back then. It took off my goat when I've seen Dj Montano being interviewed for TV claiming that he already paid Gorell everything that he took, which obviously, is a lie in the first place. I was irate back then for what he has done to Gorell. Brian's just a good guy striving for his tomorrow, and Dj blatantly destroyed that.

Well, we have to admire Brian Gorell for his brave move to stand up above all these obstacles and become a better person. It was all beautiful.

Well, looks like this issue will now reach its eventual conclusion soon enough.. I hope. Brian deserves justice for all the scars that Dj inflicted him. He suffered so much already, and I think that's enough. He deserves to be on the track once again and walk straight towards his desired tomorrow.

I pity Dj Montano. He's worthless. Well, let us leave his fate to the Divine Omnipotence. HE knows what he truly deserves after all. Only HIM..

This was funny. I got this news from cjandsuzy.com's Daily Adobo segment. Speaking of Cj and Suzy, I've heard that Suzy left Magic 89.9 yesterday. Aww.. Anyway, let's just be glad for her. :)

Moving on with the matter at hand, this news involves an incident in a Walmart Branch at Florida wherein a consumer bought something unexpected than a Nintendo DS.

Here, take a read:

A teen in florida got a brand new Nintendo DS for his birthday. He opened the package and he was rocked. The confused teen found a bunch of stones rolled up in Chinese newspaper in place of the popular handheld.

"When he opened it, he was pulling the seal off, my sister-in-law carries a pocket knife and she opened it and that's when he pulled it out and it was Chinese newspaper and a bunch of rocks," she explained.

The troubling discovery prompted the Florida woman to contact the local Wal-Mart where she bought the curious box and complain, but reportedly workers there told her it wasn't their problem and that she should contact Nintendo instead. Of course, Nintendo told her roughly the same thing, leaving mother and son with a $138 box of rocks.

Nintendo did give the mother and child a refund and $20 more to make up for the incedent.

God, what's with Walmart's products? From what I've read, all of their branches will be closing come May 8 because of the financial crisis.

Actually, there are a lot of complaints involving Walmart. These complaints involve a PSP Memory Stick full of porn stuff, expired canned goods and the like. My, my. So much for this financial recession.

How would you defend yourself from all these Walmart this last time?

This week's American Idol Elimination Night was a shocker, with Kris, Matt and idol favorite Adam Lambert joining the bottom three.

Despite a great performance, Adam was struck by a setback as Ryan told him that he's a part of the bottom group. It was completely shocking. Guess he's unable to escape the grip of the Feeling Good curse doesn't it?

Anyway, the good thing is, Adam was safe.. At least for the time being. This proves that no one's truly safe in AI. Yep, as you guessed it, Matt was eliminated. He was also unable to have the judges' save option.

So much for this week's AI. Gotta wait for next week, wherein they'll be performing rock and roll hits, which gives Adam Lambert the edge over his fellow Idol Hopefuls. Well, I have to say, things are becoming more interesting as AI nears its eventual finale.

Hello everyone! As you see, it's raining like frenzy again, as opposed to the fine cloudy weather that we've had yesterday. Well, I guess that helped a lot in nurturing my nostalgic mood for this day, haha!

So much for my short hair, haha! My Twitter friends asked me about this new look of mine and why I decided on cutting my hair like this. I just replied, "Don't you love it when things are new?"

For the record people, I'm lovin' how I look right now. :)

You might wonder: why the title of this post is Mellow Wednesday? Well, let's just say that I've had a ton of realizations and nostalgic rundowns today. Shall we discuss some of those?

My Puffy Yuri shared something with me about his female best friend. He told me that she's downright depressed, and that she's feeling so much hopeless because of her recent breakup with her boyfriend.

Thinking (probably) that I can be trusted, he shared to me the whole story about it. Her boyfriend, according to her, was pretty much unable to hold on with her mood swings, plus her assumption that after all, he did not loved her at all. She told him that he was the one who initiated the breakup. He sounded glad pa daw in his own part according to her. Another thing is, he told me about those pivotal moments that his best friend shared with him: the times wherein her boyfriend hurt her the most.

To sum it all up, her best friend was given a false promise by his boyfriend.

I suddenly felt sorry for her. I mean, my own breakup with Rei pales in comparison with this one. It was a cruel breakup. No proper closure occurred between the two of them. It was so wrong.

I know I've got no dibs about her best friend, but the thing is I'm also a girl, and I've felt how much pain she endures as of late.

So much for fake promises. I hate it whenever somebody doesn't have the guts to fulfill his/her promise. I'll understand if he/she has a proper reason to validate it but the fact is, why do you have to give a promise if you couldn't fulfill that anyway? Yah, you got me. I really DO believe in promises.

What irates me is the fact that her boyfriend's numb enough to see how she feels right now and how much she felt for him. Instead of returning the favor, he replied with ample insecurities, lies and the like.

I always believe in this three-way rule:
1. Once is enough. You've just been tempted/too assuming, I'll forgive you.
2. Twice is too much. I know you've realized how much you've made it hard/learned your lesson. I'll stiil acknowledge you.
3. Seriously? Stop fooling around mister. Get the f*** out of my life.

Tolerance is the answer. We must learn the act of forgiving and tolerating what is must. We don't need to act on impulse or emotion and forgive somebody right away. We must let self-respect exist within us, and realize that we deserve to be released from this cage of pain and be happy enough. I guess it's time we let go of that certain stupidity and tell him, "Hey, I'm done with all this crap."

The way I see it, due to her pain right now, she was unable to let go of the pain slowly and actuate the third step above. It wasn't easy for her I guess, and I understand that. I just hope that she'll be able to stand up above all these and finally move on, after all and that.

Of course, the best way through all these, is PRAYER. I'm pretty sure HE knows what is best for you.

I have 2 years left to pursue in my college life, yey! Yup, everything's nearing at its eventual conclusion. It made me wonder what the future's in store for me. Probably, it'll be all good, but still we can't just presume that easily. Life is a road full of twists and turns. You'll never know how it'll all wind up for you.

Fact is, I'm not getting any younger. We don't need to sit back, relax so much and say, "Nah, it's too early for me to worry about that." Have it this way: as we enter this slow transition from youth to early adulthood, we are slowly being given responsibilities that we need to carry out and fulfill prior to attaining early adulthood. Most of those responsibilities connect to that of our goals. That is why we need to be aware enough of those tasks in order to secure a seat within that eventual finish life after youth/college. It's all quite relative.

Let us also be aware of the fact that everything relies on NOW. Again, we have no idea how it'll all wind up tomorrow, the next day, and so forth. We need to act now and be sure enough of what we do want in life. There's no tomorrow for that one, rather the time for that is NOW. We're not small kids anymore to just play around and sit back while watching how the adults do their thing. We are slowly nearing that same stage, and if we just stop on moving forward, I'm afraid it'll be all over for you.

Best of luck to my 2 remaining years as a Bedan. :)

Techie Review: My New Phone: Nokia N96 :)

As I've told everyone in yesterday's blog post, I bought myself a new Nokia mobile phone- the N96. Well, my reason for buying this phone was because I was so curious with its functions and why most of these tech reviewers like it. So, this one's gonna be quick. :)

The Nokia N96 is a GSM/WCDMA dual mode portable multimedia computer supporting EGSM 850/900/1800/1900, WCDMA 900/2100 HSDPA, WLAN and DVB-H Video.

With a 2.8-inch screen, 16GB of internal memory and support for video in a wide range of formats, the dual-sliding N96 will offer a DVB-H TV tuner for live TV broadcasting in select markets.

The Nokia N96 supports common video formats including MPEG4, Windows Media Video and Flash, while transferring and accessing videos is fast with a USB 2.0 connection and WLAN and HSDPA support.

The storage capacity of the Nokia N96 can be further expanded with an optional microSD card, such as the new Nokia 8GB microSDHC card which increases the available memory of the Nokia N96 to an impressive total of 24GB.

In order for owners to best watch all that TV, the Nokia N96 features a “kickstand” on the back cover that allows for hands-free viewing. The N96 also features media keys, a 3.5mm headphone connector and built-in 3D stereo speakers.

In addition to the video side of things, there’s the Nokia Maps application with AGPS, a 5-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, flash and video light and video capture.

However, some of the consumers were turned off by these negative points regarding the phone:

Negative

CPU: N96 has dual ARM9 264MHz with no floating point instructions (N95 has dual ARM11 332Mhz with vector floating point)
N96 has 8x image digital zoom and 4x video digital zoom (while N95 has 20x digital zoom and 8x video digital zoom)
Same battery as original N95 (950 mAh), but the N96 reportedly has a much better battery life using the same battery (Nokia N95 8GB has 1200 mAh)
No Hardware 3D graphics accelerator for N96
No infrared port
N95 classic has lens cover and much more qualitative shutter (N95 8G/N96 don't have this feature)
No manually selected MMS messaging mode. If you write a long text message it will automatically select the MMS mode which could stop the recipient from receiving the message if they do not have MMS set up on their handset. (A Nokia USA employee stated that there is an update in the works to fix this very soon) It's assumed that this automatic selection of MMS mode is due to Nokia's Smart Connectivity)
VoIP 2.1 support for WLAN and Cellular. However, the built-in VoIP client from N95 which allowed the end-user to make internet calls directly without installing any additional software has been removed from N96. The VoIP API which can be used by software developers in their applications, can still be used though. Of course third party VoIP applications are often neither as reliable, nor as flexible as the built-in one. This has changed recently with [www.nimbuzz.com/ Nimbuzz] a client that works better than any inbuilt software, so this is no longer a drawback with the n96.
The pencil button that allows you to mark/unmark items and highlight text is not included. But this action can still be done however, by pressing and holding down the # key'.

Well, don't worry though. There are a lot of affirming specifics that places N96 on top of its predecessor:

Longer music playback time (14 hrs) and video playback time (6 hrs)

Personally, I liked this phone so much than N95 due to its sleek design and functions as opposed to its predecessor's rather rigid structure, plus its edge over the mobile phones' multimedia aspect.

Despite the negative thingies, I'm giving this phone a grade of 9 out of 10. :)

Techie Review: Samsung Mobile Phones

As I've promised, I'll be giving a review about these latest Samsung Mobile Phones and how they're set to invade the techie world. So, let's make this quick:

Samsung Blue Earth

Samsung has just revealed another ‘eco-friendly’ solar phone, the Samsung Blue Earth. The handset is made from PCM (Post Consumer Material - a recycled plastic) and got a concept of environment-friendly UI.

The phone may work in an eco-mode including Eco-Walk which adapts screen brightness, backlight duration and Bluetooth usage. The Blue Earth also has a built-in pedometer which shows CO2 emissions by walking instead of driving.

Beside those features, the Samsung Blue Earth has a solar panel on the back for needed charging. Unfortunately, there are no specifications, pricing and availability at this moment yet, but we are sure it’ll be interesting news of this year.

Samsung M8800 Pixon

A follow-up to the successful Samsung Omnia, the M8800 shares most of its functions, well except for a few catches.

Samsung W510 and F268

This one will be quick, since most of its features were vague as of the moment.

Samsung has released two new environmental friendly phones W510 and F268. The W510 is made from “bio-plastic” created with natural materials extracted from corn and F268 features alarm that let you know when is charged so you can unplug it and save the energy.

Also W510 features 2.1 inch display, 2MP camera, Bluetooth, FM radio, microSD slot. F268 packs 2MP camera, 2.1 inch VGA display, Bluetooth. Both phones will be available by the end of the month in Korea.

Techie Review: Canon EO5 500D: Hi-Def Video

For this edition of Techie Review, I'll be reviewing a new SLR camera from Canon: The Canon EO5 500D. Here, check this out:

Canon has just announced the 15.1 megapixel EOS 500D, known as the Rebel T1i in the US market. It’s a high-end consumer model which shoots HD video.

The upper-entry-level camera features a 15.1 MP APS-C CMOS sensor with 1080p HD video recording at 20fps. It also offers a 3.0 inch LCD with 920,000 dot resolution and an ISO sensitivity range expandable up to 12800 equivalent. It includes a faster Digic 4 processor offering better noise reduction at higher ISO’s and continuous shooting speeds of up to 3.4 fps delivering 170 large JPEG images in a single burst.

Technologies Explained:

CMOS
Canon’s CMOS technology is one of the company’s key competitive advantages, with noise reduction circuitry at each pixel site delivering virtually noise-free images. In comparison with CCD technology, the lower power consumption characteristics of Canon’s CMOS sensors also contribute to longer battery life.

Signal conversion in Canon’s CMOS sensors is handled by individual amplifiers at each pixel site. Unnecessary charge transfer operations are avoided, vastly speeding up the process of getting signal to the image processor. Noise generation is reduced, power consumption is limited and faster frame rate potential is increased.

DIGIC
Image data captured by the CMOS sensor is processed by Canon’s purpose-built DIGIC image processors before being written to the camera’s memory card. DIGIC technology uses advanced image processing algorithms to ensure precise, natural colours, accurate white balance, and advanced noise reduction. Ultra-fast processing speeds result in highly responsive camera operation and near-instant start-up times.

DIGIC chips work with a high speed image buffer – reading, processing, compressing and writing image data fast enough to keep the buffer clear during long continuous shooting bursts. And because DIGIC integrates all key processing functions, power consumption is kept to a minimum.

EOS Integrated Cleaning System
The EOS Integrated Cleaning System combats sensor dust in three important ways: Reduce, Repel and Remove.
Reduce - Internal camera mechanisms are designed to minimise dust generation. The redesigned body cap prevents dust generation through wear on the cap itself.
Repel - Anti-static technologies, including a special fluorine coating, are applied to the low-pass filter covering the front of the sensor so as not to attract dust.
Remove - A Self-Cleaning Sensor Unit uses hi-frequency vibrations to shake dust from the infrared filter for a period of approximately one second after each start up. For instant shooting after power up, this feature is disabled immediately the shutter release is depressed.

Canon has also developed an internal Dust Delete Data system, which can map the position of visible dust on the sensor. This can then be deleted automatically after the shoot with the latest Digital Photo Professional software.

Clear View LCD
Canon’s Clear View LCD screens are 3.0” in diameter and feature a VGA (640×480) pixel resolution with 920,000 dots. This allows high-quality viewing of images and ultra-accurate focus checks in playback. Thanks to a wide 170º angle-of-view, a Clear View LCD can be viewed in a wide range of environments with ghosting and reflections being eliminated thanks to Canon’s unique dual layer anti reflective coating. This combination of features enables photographers to enjoy shooting from awkward angles.

Full HD
Thanks to the combination of a Canon CMOS sensor and DIGIC 4 processing, Canon is able to offer Full HD resolution movie recording in a digital SLR camera. An HDMI connection provides the ability to play back movies directly on any HDTV in high quality HD resolution. Canon’s Full HD products feature the same maximum resolution available for HDTV’s (1920×1080 pixels), ensuring outstanding clarity. Full HD exceeds the quality found in HD ready (720) resolution devices.

Picture Style
Picture Style pre-sets simplify in-camera control over image qualities. Picture Style pre-sets can be likened to different film types – each one offering a different colour response. Within each selectable pre-set, photographers have control over sharpness, contrast, colour tone and saturation. The camera’s factory default configuration is set to deliver immediately-usable JPEG images without need for additional menu settings. Picture Style presets applied to a RAW image can be revised with Canon’s Digital Photo Professional software.

Good evening dear bloggers! It's a fine day for me, given the fact that I was able to hang out by myself without being hindered by the rain. Yep, it's a fine cloudy day in Manila, and a good day to do your usual gimmicks. :)

And as you see, I've cut my hair short. Wala lang, just for the sake of trying new things, and a new look as well. So far, I love how I look right now. It's quite refreshing you know.

I also bought a new phone- a Nokia N96. Yep, and it's all from my savings- from my allowances to my 1-month work stint. I guess it makes you feel glad whenever your efforts bring you good fruit.

Summer's end is approaching too fast. I guess I have to make full use of this summer vacation's remaining days prior to my 1st semester as a Third Year Bedan.

Time indeed passes out so fast you can barely notice the changes around you. Thing is, most of us hate it. We hate growing up, and we hate letting go of the moment that we are into.

You might just ask- why am I talking about these things? Let's just say that I've realized some things about summer.

To be factual enough, I'm loving it whenever summer comes. It's that season of the year wherein you're able to unwind yourself from all these stresses and rejuvenate yourself while enjoying the heat with everyone.

However, there's a sad tone deep in it. I don't want to sound pessimistic, but somehow it's saddening to have this summer thing. Have it this way: whenever a summer season arrives, it brings you the eventual fact that your life's nearing its finish line.

I know, I know. It's not right to think about that idea but the thing is, it's inevitable.

Think about it: whenever summer comes, you have to accept the fact that you have n summers left to enjoy given the average life span that a person has. Because of that simple aspect, you are left to face with the idea of enjoying those remaining summers to the fullest without minding the sad thing about it.

Alright, enough with that. Let's look at the bright side, we are still here enjoying how hot and humid summer can be, haha! Things might get worse any minute but come to think of it, we need to think how lucky we are knowing that we are still breathing and enjoying our dear lives.

That just proves the old adage: "Life isn't meant to be serious."

Good evening everyone! Gosh, the weather's becoming weirder each day it makes me worry about it. In some ways, you have to, knowing that the climate's not supposed to be like this.

The good news is, we can say goodbye to those so-hot-days. The bad news is, well, we have to prepare ourselves for the impending symptoms of Global Warming, plus bad traffic and lousy gimmick days..

Enough said. Anyway, it was a boring day. I was at my house all day long. I just watched some TV and played with my PSP throughout the day. Guess this crazy weather made me nuts. Oh gosh..

Anyway, I have some things to share with you. Let's do this:

Just moments ago, I've found something very interesting on the net. It was the top 4 list of the most dangerous roads in the world. Believe it or not, they're quite freaky and scary to go to. When will these engineers motivate themselves to lessen these scary roads and rehabilitate them? Well, only time can tell I guess.

So, here's the list:

North Yungas Road, aka “Road of Death”, Bolivia: This road cuts through the Bolivian Andes, running almost 70 km from La Paz to Coroico. It travels nearly 3,600 meters down and is comprised almost entirely of narrow hairpin curves. Unfortunately, their is no safety net below off the side of the road, and as you can see from the picture, the drop is quite severe. While you’re smart enough to read about this road before attempting to travel it, between 100-200 people a year over estimate their driving abilities, leading to their unfortunate death. Constructed in the 1930’s by Paraguayan prisoners, it would be easy to assume that they built it to be this treacherous on purpose. North Yungas Road is most frequently traveled by trucks and busses, which makes it’s span of merely three meters wide almost as terrifying as looking out the window when on it. If you still don’t fear the “Road of Death” be warned, these conditions are only what you would experience in the dry season. Let’s hope you don’t get stuck there in the rain.
Siberian Road to Yakutsk, Russia. If your looking to travel to Yakutsk, this is road is the only option you have. As you can see, you’ll be traveling on more mud than actual road so let’s hope you’re friends with a local tow truck driver! Expect traffic to come to a stop as many will wait for this 30 km long road to dry enough to considering driving on. But being a mud road isn’t the only thing that makes it dangerous. Many expects suspect underground gas leaks, supported by the reports from a majority of motorists who have survived car accidents on this road claiming that they can’t remember what happened. Perhaps Yakutsk isn’t worth visiting after all.
Guoliang Tunnel in the Taihang Mountains, China Before May 1st 1977 the only hope of making it to the small village on the other side of the mountain was to follow the along the rock foot path. In 1972 workers began a five year process of creating this 1,200 meter long tunnel, spanning 4 meters wide and 5 meters high. Wear and tear over the years has caused this tunnel to become uneven, but don’t worry, the view from the thirty plus windows will make your journey on this road even scarier.
Taroko Gorge Road, Taiwan. While this road doesn’t offer the twists and turns you’ll find from those above, you’re still riding on a wide open mountain side. Although an absolutely beautiful sight to see, don’t take your eyes off the road unless you happen to have a car parachute. Your best bet to enjoy this beautiful scenery would be to take a tour bus across it, unless of course your looking for a more scenic grave.

Expecting Philippines to be on that list? Well, you can attest to it that after some time, some of our scary roads will make it on that list, that is, if our engineers/government officials will start implementing road safety projects.

A rainy weekend to everyone! Yep, as the title suggests, it's still raining like crazy, and it seems that this would take a while. Well, guess we have to be patient enough in dealing with the crazy downpour.

I'm so much lazy today to do almost anything. Guess this crazy downpour affected me big time, haha! Yep, I felt so much cozy that I became lazy enough to take a nap instead of doing my usual thingies. Guess the rainy season has its advantages, and I'm making use of it thoroughly. :)

I know some of you has the same sentiment as I am. Well, you have to agree with me: the rain outside gives a comfy feel that brings us this sleepy mood. That is why I pity those who are taking their summer classes right now, most notably the stress-filled Mapuans, haha!

Sana hindi kayo tamarin! (Hope that you'll never feel lazy!) -Haha! :D

Since I'm lazy enough to do almost anything, I've decided to use my DVD player and watch old episodes of the hit sitcom F.R.I.E.N.D.S.

I know, I know. It's a little bit' old-school, but you have to agree with me: its characters and storyline's completely lovable and fun to watch. There's a certain charisma within the show that you can't just resist, plus the fact that I can relate myself to them.

Actually, the show reminded me of my own barkada and how unique and "freakish" they are, haha! But seriously, you gotta love them for being there at all times and for who they are. To put it, they are precious treasures that I can't just throw off, and heck, if somebody opposes or hurts them, well there will be hell to pay. I'll be the first person to defend them.

If you haven't watched F.R.I.E.N.D.S., then why don't you give it a try? I'm sure, you'll have your lengthy dose of laughter and fun. :)

Since it's raining madly lately, I cancelled most of my plans for the weekend. Heck, who'll be able to enjoy gimmicking or tripping in a time like this? Obviously, no one.

It's pretty annoying to know that we're just into the middle of summer, yet it started raining so hard. Most of my friends at Manila were complaining, due to the fact that most of the streets there went flooded for a short span of time. My friend Ian also shared to me that it's pretty difficult to go to school with the kind of weather that we're experiencing right now.

I guess something's not right with the climate. I mean, something effed it up to the point that it started raining.

Let's just hope that my intuitions aren't right.

2009 NBA Playoffs

Oh boy. Due to my laziness, and to some circumstances, I'm always hindered to watch the playoff games. It pisses me off whenever I tend to forget that there's a game to be watched, recalling so when it's about to end already.

Yup, don't get me wrong. I'm a sporty girl as well, and I love watching sports, most notably these three: tennis, volleyball and basketball.

In order for me to catch up with the games that I missed, I did some researching on the current standings of the 8 participating teams for this year's playoffs.

What's interesting in this year's playoffs is that it seems that the Portland Trail Blazers are all set to claim the glory that they deserve. Another notable team is Cleveland, who succeeded in hitting a clincher after 33 years, plus their undefeated streak in the elimination round against Detroit Pistons.

Yep, I am actually rooting for Cleveland or L.A., haha! I love these two teams, and I'm pretty much hyped up for their upcoming games. I'll assure this time that I'll never miss the courtside action.

A cold Friday evening dear bloggers. Well, it seems that the weather took some twists today. Earlier this morning it was freakishly hot, but when afternoon came, hell froze over in favor of the rain.

Well, I guess the forecast is right: expect for more rain these next few days.

Anyway, I drove this morning to Makati to meet up with Puffy and accompany him for a little shopping. I also invited him for a simple lunch date, and then we played up Tekken 6: BR at Timezone afterwards, haha!

Yup, we missed playing Tekken together you see. :)

What's sweet is that he offered to drive my mom's car on our way home, which I rejected quickly. He's lazy kasi to bring his aunt's car, haha! Since he always makes it a point to drive me home whenever he brings his aunt's car, I assured this time that I'll be returning the favor to him. And it made him smile. He hugged me a little bit when we got home. It was the sweetest thing for me this day.

Yeah, and I guess it will always be..

Fact is, I'm unable to think of something to talk about in this post. Probably it's because I'm so much lazy to do some thinking, or perhaps sleepy and all that.

Well, let's just say most writers lose ther drives to write in a periodic span of time.

Alright, guess I have something to talk about right now, haha!

I am a writer myself, and I am no exception on this one. Let's go straight to the point: why do most writers lose their motivation or drive to write?

Let's list down some notable reasons:
1. Absence of inspiration. Of course, it'll hinder you from thinking effectively and being wholehearted in creating your piece. It's essential to have an inspiration so to speak when writing something.
2. Wondering. Sometimes, we tend to wonder or think about something that much that it misleads us from the topic that we're writing about.
3. Span of time spent on other things. More often than not, being unable to write for a longer span of time because of being busy and all that causes most of us to eventually lose our touch in writing. But the fact is, some talented writers still make it a point to keep their skill intact, even with the time being laid on their writing breaks.

There are a lot of reasons other than that, but probably it'll take forever to list them all down. Well, let's just say that you're not a writer if you've not suffered from this one. We all experience this sort of thing. It's just that it depends entirely on us whether to keep our writing abilities intact.

A Good Thursday evening dear bloggers. Yep, it's still raining like crazy. Actually, I checked on the weather forecast and it says that it'll be raining for the entire week. It's just so weird to know that it's still the middle of summer and yet we're experiencing the curtains of La Nina. Oh well...

Since I'm stuck inside my home today(I was too lazy to do some driving today, haha!), I did nothing but to be vain with myself and with my little sister, haha! Forgive us for being so vain, it's just that the rain hinders us from doing anything... Well, in some ways I guess, haha!

I have a lot of things to talk about. Let's start away.

Let's discuss the upcoming Pinoy OFW/Expats Blog Awards. Yep, for the second time around, the blog community will be recognizing OFW bloggers for their notable contributions in the blogosphere. It's also a simple way of saying thank you for the efforts that they have ushered as members of the Filipino migrant worker community.

Let's face it: without these noble OFWs, probably most of us are nothing.

It's touching to know how these Pinoy workers have gone through just to provide their families the necessities that they need and the conditions that they deserve. Their tears, their sweat, their blood- they never cared on shedding those just for the sake of their loved ones, and of course, proving to everyone that they can be catalysts for a wonderful future ahead.

So let us support and salute these OFWs for doing such a wonderful job and for being proud members of the Filipino nation.

In order for us to thank these noble OFWs, let us support wholeheartedly the upcoming 2009 Pinoy OFW/Expats Blog Awards. Let us join hands in promoting this event towards the blogosphere to help and thank these model Filipinos.

Earlier on, I posted something about this Beyonce Knowles off-key board feed video that's circulating around the net. Amusingly, it became a hot topic on most blogs, forums, entertainment sites, and even TV and radio shows.

Regarding this video, recently, the person who posted this on the net just claimed on TMZ and Hilton that it was all but fake. It was a joke meant to play some pranks on Beyonce. He said that he just made some alterations on Beyonce's voice during the performance to make it looke like it was just a lousy lipsynching.

Yep, he is right. I've seen the source video of her actual Today Show performance, and it was all great. It pales in comparison to the worse and hilarious ambiance of the edited video.

Well, I guess all's well that ends well... No matter how big were the damages being dealt by the video, no one could change the fact that surely, Beyonce's one of the greatest performing artists of all time.

I was browsing a little over the net while thinking of something to post with regards to the upcoming Filipino OFW Blogger Awards when suddenly I found this one.

Apparently, this video shows Beyonce Knowles lip synching "If I Were A Boy" on an edition of The Today Show, and the recorded voice used for this performance, as far as this video shows, is completely off-key and horrible.

It's quite hilarious to hear the talented diva Beyonce singing this horrible. I have no idea whether it is true or not or how to validate any possible assumptions. I'll just try to check out something in relation to this video and give you some updates about that.

Fastfood Reality

Just moments ago, I found this blog site entitled thispiggy.com. This blog site is quite entertaining, featuring some "viral" topics ranging from the bizaare to the peculiar.

One interesting blog post was this article entitled "Fastfood Reality." It shows pictures of some fastfoods' products the way they were advertised on magazines and their real appearances when served. It's pretty a good read. It's basically about consumer reality- giving you an idea whether these companies are deceiving you with their services and products.

I think it'll be a pretty good idea if we try this one. Let's feature some products' pictures as they were advertised on most mediums and their pictures/video showing how they really look or function in real life. Sounds interesting? Yup, it does. Maybe I'll do that one of these days.

Yep, that's my windshield being splashed by the rain.

A rainy aftie everyone! Yep, it's still a rainy day, and most of us freakin' love it, well except for those who are having their classes and gimmicks this time, haha!

For some reason, I can't help but love the rain. It has a symbolism for me that I can't just explain. Let's also add the fact that the rain brings a cozy feeling whenever I'm inside my house or car, especially if you're in the mood to take a nap, haha!

Earlier this morning, I used my mom's car and drove from Alabang to Makati. Let's just say that it was a test drive to see how I'll fare in a condition like this, so I went driving around Ayala, Alabang and made the rounds on Makati. Afterwards, I stopped at Alabang Town Center to do some food tripping and a little shopping. Yep, it's a little bit creepy inside ATC, due to the fact that it seemed like I'm only the person who's inside the mall. Perhaps most people hated the idea of malling on a rainy day.

Oh well.. Anyway, I met up with my Puffy Yuri on ATC as well. He was there to buy some acessories for his mobile phone, so I insisted on giving him company for a short while.

It was short, but sweet for the two of us. :)

I was testing something while browsing the net. I tried to type in some random phrases on Google to see how the results would be. I typed in the phrase "angering my friends."

Guess what came out?

No results came out, and Google replied, "Do you mean FINGERING MY FRIENDS?"

What?

I typed in more phrases. I tested the phrases "Why" and "How To." The results that came out from both these phrases were connected to, ehem, sex and porn. I dunno. They were just innocent phrases, but then the results that they produced were quite raunchy and peculiar.

After trying those phrases, I decided to test searching some images. I typed in the words "Nun", "Boy" and "Huge."

Guess what?

The number one images on all those searches were still, in fact, connected to porn and other adult thingies.

God. Does this mean that the net exists just to provide porn or something? Or is there a problem with my search engine?

Note, my safesearch was ON the whole time, and I have no idea why the results were that peculiar and crazy.

Google?!

I also tested out something on my PC. Let's just say that I'm in the mood to test out my curiosities with regards to both my PC and the net.

I tried to create some folders using some peculiar terms.

I used the words "exe", "plus", "static" and "con."

Of all those words, con was unavailable and perhaps, prohibited to be used as a name for a folder. It was because Windows stated there that it was only to be used for military purposes and all that.

That made me conclude that some words were definitely not available for most users to use in creating their own folders.

Princess News: Scientists discover a nearly earth-sized planet..

I found this news on Yahoo! Looks like scientists have delved on a new breakthrough with the discovery of a new planet- and possibly a second habitat for all humanity. Here, take a look:

HATFIELD, England – In the search for Earth-like planets, astronomers zeroed in Tuesday on two places that look awfully familiar to home. One is close to the right size. The other is in the right place. European researchers said they not only found the smallest exoplanet ever, called Gliese 581 e, but realized that a neighboring planet discovered earlier, Gliese 581 d, was in the prime habitable zone for potential life.

"The Holy Grail of current exoplanet research is the detection of a rocky, Earth-like planet in the 'habitable zone,'" said Michel Mayor, an astrophysicist at Geneva University in Switzerland.

An American expert called the discovery of the tiny planet "extraordinary."

Gliese 581 e is only 1.9 times the size of Earth — while previous planets found outside our solar system are closer to the size of massive Jupiter, which NASA says could swallow more than 1,000 Earths.

Gliese 581 e sits close to the nearest star, making it too hot to support life. Still, Mayor said its discovery in a solar system 20 1/2 light years away from Earth is a "good example that we are progressing in the detection of Earth-like planets."

Scientists also discovered that the orbit of planet Gliese 581 d, which was found in 2007, was located within the "habitable zone" — a region around a sun-like star that would allow water to be liquid on the planet's surface, Mayor said.

He spoke at a news conference Tuesday at the University of Hertfordshire during the European Week of Astronomy and Space Science.

Gliese 581 d is probably too large to be made only of rocky material, fellow astronomer and team member Stephane Udry said, adding it was possible the planet had a "large and deep" ocean.

"It is the first serious 'water-world' candidate," Udry said.

Mayor's main planet-hunting competitor, Geoff Marcy of the University of California, Berkeley, praised the find of Gliese 581 e as "the most exciting discovery" so far of exoplanets — planets outside our solar system.

"This discovery is absolutely extraordinary," Marcy told The Associated Press by e-mail, calling the discoveries a significant step in the search for Earth-like planets.

While Gliese 581 e is too hot for life "it shows that nature makes such small planets, probably in large numbers," Marcy commented. "Surely the galaxy contains tens of billions of planets like the small, Earth-mass one announced here."

Nearly 350 planets have been found outside our solar system, but so far nearly every one of them was found to be extremely unlikely to harbor life.

Most were too close or too far from their sun, making them too hot or too cold for life. Others were too big and likely to be uninhabitable gas giants like Jupiter. Those that are too small are highly difficult to detect in the first place.

Both Gliese 581 d and Gliese 581 e are located in constellation Libra and orbit around Gliese 581.

Like other planets circling that star — scientists have discovered four so far — Gliese 581 e was found using the European Southern Observatory's telescope in La Silla, Chile.

The telescope has a special instrument which splits light to find wobbles in different wavelengths. Those wobbles can reveal the existence of other worlds.

"It is great work and shows the potential of this detection method," said Lisa Kaltenegger, an astronomer at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.

Yep, looks like finally, it's time for us to get our hats off for dear summer and welcome La Nina once again. Hai, so much for the rain I guess.

Since I have nothing to do today, I slept too much and went vain with myself in some instances, haha! I can't help but to be a little bit narcisstic of myself.

I have a lot of things to talk about in this post. So, let us begin shall we?

Let's talk about traffic.

As you see, traffic's a pain in the ass lately these days, especially with the offices/workers springing upfront for work, the Lenten break over and with the rain rather complicating things up.

Well, there's more to life than those reasons I guess.

It's an issue that probably we can't just solve that quickly. There's an old joke that says: "If you've been coded and jammed across the heavy traffic, definitely you're a Filipino."

Yeah, true.

Anyway, what made me talk about traffic? It's just that I found something very interesting on the net. In my hands is the Top 20 list of the worst cities in the world with paining traffic jams. Definitely you'll agree with the list.

Here we go:

2. Crazy and inappropriate traffic/motorist rules and laws. Yup, we gotta screw MMDA for that. Furthermore, in some ways, these rules could create hassles on road, eventually causing traffic.
3. Population Boom. Yep. As population increases, the number of vehicles follow. It's like a package deal.
4. Road extensions. Hope it helps.. But it doesn't... As of now, I guess.
5. Poor traffic system.

There you go. If only the public eye will open their sights on this and work together in order to solve this problem.

I guess that'll be an ardous task to handle.

Hey buddy, you got me wrong there. I am more than just proud of being a Filipino. It's just that I am using the English language as my medium in order to open my simple journal not just on Filipinos, but on other countries' bloggers as well. As I've mentioned in one of my previous posts, blogging is essentially made for making bonds with people. regardless of race and kind. So if you're blind on that purpose mister, you might as well quit blogging, isn't it?

Rainy Monday

Summer vacation may not be entirely over but the season's atmosphere itself is gone. I guess we need to prepare ourselves for rain, especially with this crazy global warming thingy complicating the climate's flow.

Anyway, I am not here to talk about that, haha!

Early this morning I listened to Goodtimes with Mo on Magic 89.9. With Mo back on deck, things sure got into a naughty pitstop, haha! What caught my attention was when they discussed how we behave when we're sorry for something.

To quote Dj Mo, "God, we're like goddamn babies when we say sorry.."

To tell you frankly, it was true enough. We suddenly behave quite sore and awful when we apologize to somebody.

I think it is a tendency already, or perhaps something that is humane: to act sore and humble ourselves in order for the person we've done something wrong to forgive us. Probably the baby act is an add-on to further quicken up the process. Sometimes, that act becomes so irritating we just want to ask the person, "Geez, are you really into this apology of yours?"

True enough, isn't it?

Oh well...

One time, I was walking across Recto when a certain scenario caught my attention, springing me upfront with my camera to take a picture.

I just felt sorry for the man. He's quite powerless to stand up and face life's obstacles, plus the fact that people seem to avoid noticing him, further paining him inside.

I can feel his pain when I took this picture.

Without hesitation, I gave him my spare biscuits and left slowly. I stared to him at a moment, and continued to walk on.

This is something that we can't just eliminate easily: POVERTY.

As most humanists view, there will always be have nots and the haves, as long as this inequality and conflicting system exists within our society. It is a stigma that would take some time, or probably eternity, to be solved completely.

But then again, I always believe that this world will someday become a complete utopia: a world where pain and suffering doesn't exist and peace looms within mankind.

Obviously, I wasn't around yesterday. It's because me and my close friends, including some of Yuri's relatives went to Splash Island for a little wee bonding and summer tripping. It was a good thing that we reserved our slots there two days earlier, or else we might suffer some hassles upon our arrival.

Actually, our original plan was for us to go to Splash early in the morning, but due to some inconveniences with regards to the van that we used, we left at exactly 12 pm.

It was great being with my friends. We were like crazy. It's awesome. We stayed up late up to the wee hours of the morning doing nothing but catching up with each other, while having these crazy stuff that we usually do when we're together.

I'll never forget my experience at Splash. It's the best summer trip I've ever had.

Techie News: New variant of the Conficker Virus found

Researchers discovered a new variant of the Conficker worm whose mission is to cash in on unsuspecting PC users. Sophos said Conficker is spreading and urged users to secure PCs against all threats, not just Conficker.

The scareware is called Spyware Protect 2009. The program displays a pop-up message that tells a victim the computer is infected and says software is available to remove the fake antivirus program for $49.95.

The victim is then sent to a fake Web site to enter credit-card information.

My Note: Not again. So much for this dreaded Conficker Virus. So far, I believe this is the most destructive of all computer threats, due to the damage that it can deliver to your system, and to your bank account.

I believe there's a program that you can download in cnet.asia wherein it enables the system to remove the Conficker virus and safeguard the system from it somehow. However, I can conclude that it depends on the user whether he'll lose his guard off to allow this threat or be vigilant enough when exoloring the net world.

Techie News: Twitter hit by computer virus attacks

The micro-blogging service run by Twitter Inc. was hit with a series of computer virus attacks that placed unwanted messages on users’ sites. A 17 year old kid by the name of Michael “Mikeyy” Mooney admitted creating the virus attack “out of boredom.”

The so-called “Mikeyy” worm spreads when Twitter users click onto an affected page from a message — or “tweet” — posted by another infected user. They then begin automatically posting tweets to other users that promote the site StalkDaily.com.

Twitter said that no sensitive information has been compromised by the virus and hinted it may take action against perpetrators in court.

My note on this one: it's not the first time that a online social site like Twitter was struck by a string of malware attacks. If you do remember, Friendster last year was hit by a severe virus, causing its server to enter a diluted state. It was miserable to say the least.

Anyway, I'm so much impressed with this kid. He'll be an asset for companies for sure.

Why am I blogging?

That question started bugging up my head after reading Lord CM's blog post about his reasons for being a part of the blogosphere. Of course, all of us have our reasons for initiating ourselves as members of the blogger community. You wouldn't create a blog in the first place if you don't have a proper motivation for it. There would always be a reason or purpose for these things.

To put it, I DON'T BELIEVE THAT THINGS DO EXIST FOR NOTHING.

Logical enough, isn't it?

So why am I here on Blogger in the first place?

1. I just want people to know a different side of me. People kasi view me as an ordinary girl-next-door who's a looker. I want people to see the smart head and opinionated Melissa inside of me, not that Melissa who's known by people because of her looks and talents as a student. I want to be viewed differently. I just want to show you who I am. Whether you hate it or not, you're gonna get a piece of the real Melissa.

2. It would be totally boring isn't it if you keep some new stuffs that you have discovered, seen or have for yourself. It'll be wonderful if you get to share it with other people and know their reactions about it. Let's just say that I love having interesting discussions with people. It helps me learn more about things apart from what I know. Blogging is essentially a two-way experience: you share things with other people while you read and learn new stuff from them.

3. This blog will be a perfect avenue for me to put my own interests to use. As you all know, I'm a techie girl, and it'll be senseless if I'll be unable to express that characteristic of mine into something.

4. Aside from all that, my friend Yuri inspired me to start up Princess Journal, telling me that it'll be great if I'll have a journal wherein I'll be able to post up sorts of stuff that I'm interested into. He even gave the name of this blog. Thanks to you Puffy! :)

5. I want to meet new people and make friends with them. I think that's the most relative purpose of blogging: to have friends and bond with them in a different way.

Actually, I can call myself a true blue blogger right now. I deleted my friendster account due to the fact that I've loaded up all of my time into this one, plus the fact that this humble journal of mine gave me a reason to stay online even further and become a part of it as well. It is my life, something that I'll keep for myself forever.

And I think that's what counts the most for a blogger like me. :)

My Note: The Helium Club

Since Sunday, I've been hearing fuss about this new "reality drama" series in Facebook entitled The Helium Club.

As the title and the logo suggests, this show depicts the other side of Manila's socialites and their perspectives/viewpoints in life. If I'm not mistaken, this was started as a film project by some students from La Salle, choosing the socialite life as a theme.

I've seen its trailer, and to be honest, it was too surreal to be called a reality drama as such, as pinpointed by Mojo Jojo at Goodtimes yesterday.

I don't want to bash off this show nor to say that it totally sucks, but the fact is, it represents a false reality about these socialites. It turns out that most of them were just plain existent in a materialistic world, and that everything revolves on branded stuff, money and fame, which is quite unrealistic. It doesn't represent a part of the actual microcosm of the society, giving the socialite community a bad name. However, its redeeming value can only be perceived within the side storylines of these aspiring dj and singer characters. It's quite relative to reality in contrast to the actual storyline which involves most of its "socialite" cast.

Anyway, I was with him yesterday. It was fun being with him. We did a lot of good stuff yesterday, the usual things that we do when we hang out together. It was just so amazing.

That morning, we first visited his aunt at Forbes Park. His aunt wants to give him something. Then afterwards we went to SM Makati to buy some accessories and then we proceeded at MoA.

Yep. It's at MoA where our true fun have started. :)

We did some foodtripping, a little shopping, vanity moments, ice-skating and of course, our favorite part- playing Tekken 6: BR together. :)

It was just so great..:)

Happy Easter everyone! I'm back here in the blogosphere once again. After three days of bonding up with my family as well as celebrating the Lenten Season, I'm up and ready to embrace the net once more and do the kinds of stuff that I missed during those days.

Well, without any further ado, let's get started.

I've enjoyed our stay in Tagaytay that much. It's great to bond with your family much closer than the usual. Besides that, I love the scenery and the feel that we have in Tagaytay. That made us sit back and feel the breeze while recalling some things and stuff.

And of course, I'll never forget taking pics of myself as well, haha!

Sacrifice..

Personally, it is a term that I have a certain loathing for back then, not because I can't do it, but because of the experiences that I've had before.

Let's face it: it is so much difficult to give up something that you truly desire in order to attain what is right and just. As the old adage puts it, "Only heroes make sacrifices.."

And so it claims...

To tell you frankly, I find it hard for me to give up all the things that I value for, even if I have to. I'll hold on firmly to them, even if it'll take my life as payment- a childish characteristic that I have before.

Well, that is, until I reached college.

I realized that things weren't that easy, that they aren't to be bargained in an instant. My realizations further ignited after Rei broke up with me. It was a sad feeling, but yet it gave me things to ponder upon.

I value my dreams so much, as well as my family and friends. If I am to affirm my desire to prove that I can do it to repay them and to show them how much I value them, then perhaps I must give up some things in order to move forward.

Giving up things doesn't mean that it'll kill you. It means you are letting go of them because you have to and you need to, in order to reach your particular goals in life and to attain what is truly right.

Besides, a little inconvenience in your part won't hurt, right?- If you are to embrace a bigger set of reality after everything.

That is SACRIFICE.. Giving up the things that you value in order to attain what is right and to show how much you value the people around you..

Sadly, most people take this term for granted...

I say: why don't you try to place yourselves within the shoes of those who are willing to do it? Sometimes, we don't get everything that easily. Life is not an easy bargain, and we don't have to force other people to face the consequences and inconveniences for your own sake.

Again, as I've said in one of my blog posts, the answer is MODERATION, the act of catching the ball and releasing it when needed..

It's funny to know how people hate this thingy. Well, I am no exception to it, and it is completely humane.

However, pain is only temporarily. It's just that we set our minds to assume that the pain will last for eternity.

Why don't we forget all these mindsets and realize what is truly important?

Just like Christ. He gave up his own life and public dignity, in order to achieve his desire to rid humanity of its bondage to sin. It is so much painful in his part, yet no complaint came out from his lips. He endured it, not because he has to, but because he wants to..

Today's nothing special.. Well, except for those moments where your younger brother cracks up his usual jokes and takes a stolen shot of you, haha!

It is so freakishly hot today! It's not the usual "warm and humid" temperature that you'll have in a dry day. The temperature's so annoying you'll blow your head off in migraine because of it.

You might be asking: Why am I so excited for tomorrow? Let's just say I'll be with HIM. Yep, I'm talking about HIM. He wants me to join him in meeting his mom at the airport. Well, as obvious as it is, I affirmed at it, knowing that it'll be all great being with the one you like.

Due to my own boredom, I wrote a personal essay about this Holy Week on my diary. I'll be posting it tomorrow to share it with you.

Puffy Yuri shared this mad video with me. This depicts a recorded phone patch between a Citibank Manager and an irate(and mad) caller who suddenly cursed freakishly within the call. I guess some of you have heard this already but for starters, let me post the video here.

And then later on I found this video showing the same mad woman on the phone patch cursing madly on a McDonald's branch at Festival Supermall, Alabang.

My God. She's really crazy. I can't believe that a scum like her would exist in this world. How dare this lady insult her own Filipino heritage? My.. I have a load of things to say about this girl but let me leave the job to your hands.

Joseph, me and Klarisse during our mini reunion last Friday

A good day dear bloggers! I just got home moments ago. Today is Palm Sunday, and my parents made it a point to treat all of us after hearing the mass. And today is an exception: LA's with us. The two of us bonded earlier, catching up with each other. And oh, we've had a great time.

It's kind of irritating to know that most people hear mass during occasions like these. Besides, an hour willingly kept for HIM won't hurt, right?

Anyway, let's not delve into that topic, haha!

Last Friday was awesome. It's great to see my high school batchmates once more. I missed them badly. It was cool to see how they've changed after these 2 years. We went to MoA that evening and spent our time foodtripping, taking pictures, gimmicking and the like. It was pretty cool. Sayang nga lang and we're not all complete during that evening, but nonetheless, it was all great.

Yesterday was a bore. Supposedly, me, Yuri, Ian, Hannah and Kuya Matt will go at MoA to play Tekken BR and have some drinks at Redbox, but due to the rain, we were unable to do so. Sigh. I was doomed once more to spend the rest of the day in deep boredom. Well, there's always next time, isn't it?

Alright, let's make this quick. I'm actually about to leave afterwards for a simple reunion with my batchmates from High School. Gosh, I missed these guys so much. Well, as the adage says, "The best things in life come in High School."

And so it claims. I believe it gave out a part of my very best somehow.

Earlier on, I came across this Final Fantasy Versus XIII trailer. In all honesty, I can say that this game's awesome and quite darker than FF's previous iterations, as based on what I've seen on the trailer.

Another Odd News: Cereal box phoneline typo sends customers to a phone sex line

This one's funny. Imagine yourself calling Nestle for some inquiries with regards to the cereal that you've been eating. After the opposite line takes your call, you'll be surprised to hear a moaning lady seducing you out. :)

HALFWAY, Md. – An Oregon company has ordered new packaging for its Peace Cereal after a typo on the box sent callers to a phone sex line instead of the cereal maker's 800 number. Instead of reaching Golden Temple of Oregon, callers were greeted by a recorded voice asking, "Do you love sex? ... Isn't that why you called?"

Spokeswoman Elissa Brown said Eugene, Ore.-based Golden Temple ordered new packaging when the mistake was discovered in December and new boxes have been shipping out for weeks.

However, 13 varieties of the cereal were on shelves Wednesday at one Halfway, Md., grocery store, including seven varieties in boxes bearing the incorrect telephone number.

Domino's Pizza gives away 11,000 pizzas to a customer

I got this news from Yahoo! wherein a Web customer wins 11,000 free pizzas. That's a treat, isn't it? How did this happen? Well, you have to read this one to find out why.

CINCINNATI – The Domino's pizza chain has given away nearly 11,000 free pizzas because of a never-used promotion that a Web customer stumbled upon. Tim McIntyre, spokesman for Ann Arbor, Mich.-based Domino's, said Wednesday that the company had prepared an Internet coupon for an ad campaign that was considered in December but never activated.

McIntyre said somebody discovered that the code word "bailout" was good for a free medium pizza ordered online. The information quickly spread Monday night on the Web, until the code was deactivated Tuesday morning.

The owner of 14 Domino's locations in the Cincinnati area says his stores gave away more than 600 pies. Owner John Glass told The Cincinnati Enquirer that Domino's promised to reimburse him for the pizzas.

Good evening dear bloggers. :)

These days were pretty weird isn't it? It's supposed to be hot, but yet it's raining. Some of my friends were annoyed, due to the fact that it ruined their swimming plans for the weekend, haha! I dunno, but I just love this cozy, cold feeling that the rain has brought to me. It makes me wanna hug my pillow even more and go to sleep, haha!

Because it's raining outside and I'm unable to hang out, I took pictures of my younger siblings instead- save for L.A., who's still at my aunt's house at Bel-Air because of school stuff. We understand that though.

Anyway, moving on. I guess I have to make an advance announcement about this. Okay, here we go. I'll be gone away for a three days or so next week starting this Maundy Thursday because I'll be with my relatives at Tagaytay this Holy Week. In order to observe the spirit of the season, I'll take a pass from all these online stuff just for three days or so. Besides, I guess I'll never be able to use my laptop anyway at Tagaytay.

If it's meant for you, it would be....

I came across Jaymee Joaquin's blog site. It was so much interesting. She has interesting ideas with regards to some aspects in life, and quite frankly, her blogposts made me have some realizations about myself..

I realized that if you want someone/something so bad, chances are it won't be yours because anything you chase in life runs away.

True enough. You'll never get everything that you want in life. Sometimes, no matter how we try for something, as long as it's not meant for you or if it doesn't suit you at all, then you'll never achieve it. Fact is, we frustrate ourselves upon these desires that we deeply want to the point that we're becoming blind enough to see other good things lying upon your front door.

I suddenly recalled my past with Rei after reading her quote above. I could remember clearly how desperate I am before to bring Rei back into the picture. I went completely nuts after our breakup. But then, I realized that if it's not meant to be, then it'll never be, unless time or God permits it. Time is a valuable asset in life. However, most of us abuse or misconceptualize the idea of time, hindering us to attain or get grasp of the things that we want.

Just like holding my cat Ross, I have learned that the key is moderation.

Yup, the answer is moderation. We don't need to frustrate ourselves that much or to wait so long for the things that we want. We just have to seek balance. We have to learn the act of letting go and holding on to it.

To sum it all up, we have to be adept enough to catch the ball and release it properly.

We don't have to force ourselves ahead the road. Rather, we must take things steadily one step at a time. No need to rush. Doing the former will only cause so much regret and frustration in our part. We have to do things slowly, calmly, firmly and surely.

It's all about balance. Hold on to it... not too loose but not too tight. Just right. And just like Ross, they will find it's way back to you as long as you're meant to have them.

Yup, exactly. As long as God wants it for you, you'll have it. You just have to be patient and persevering enough in doing your best for it, and I'm sure enough, you'll attain it. :)

I got this news on Yahoo. It was a funny act, made by an 18-yr. old prankster. Here, check this one out:

Easily offended readers move along - this story involves juvenile humor and a massive painting of a penis.

When 18 year old Roy McInnes watched a TV show about Google Earth, he decided to play a little prank on the photo snapping satellites.

See, these camera satellites pass overhead, and take shots of your area. They don't care what they see, unless it is something deemed classified, in which case it is blurred.

Roy was hoping that anything he'd paint on his roof, would be captured by Google, and become viewable to the world.

He climbed on the roof of his parents house, and armed with a can of white paint, he drew a massive phallus.

Picture after the jump, may not be suitable for work, children or anyone who is offended by a penis.

None of this would be terribly impressive, but it took over a year for anyone to notice the "artwork" on the roof. A passing helicopter pilot saw the penis, and the first thing he did was to contact the national tabloid, The Sun (I guess that is where the real money is nowadays).

The Sun then contacted the home owner, who initially thought it was an early April Fools prank. When he started interrogating his kids, he discovered the truth - his 18 year old son admitted he was behind the work of art.

Luckily for him, he's on a year long travel around the world, so won't be anywhere near the house to receive his punishment any time soon.

I do wonder: what if a Filipino kid does that similar act here? I guess that would automatically create controversy, haha! Well, it's quite funny. I suggest the kid has to prepare himself for hours of scrubbing that giant phallus drawing out. :)

Good evening everyone! Well, I can say that I'm relatively happy today. Let's just say that someone made me smile that much. Actually, I can't even bear this feeling easily. My mom noticed my smile earlier and asked me, "Hey sweetie, parang alam ko na kung bakit ka nakasmile ah.."(Hey sweetie, looks like I have an idea why you're smiling a lot today.)

Well, I guess it's pretty obvious who's the reason behind this smile of mine.

Anyway, I've read this blog entitled Perspektib. It's quite interesting. Its owner gives logical insights on some issues as well as being a proud advocate of the Filipino Bloggers. Kudos to its owner, Marlon(Am I right about your name? Hope I am..). That made me more motivated to post interesting things in my blog and be proud of this Three Stars and A Sun. :)

Moving on, I've had my own fair share of pranks today. Like for instance, my close friend Hannah texted me saying that she's 3 months preggy. I was entirely shocked by her news, only to laugh out loud after receiving a reply from her that says "April Fools!"

So much for pranks. Even Puffy sent me one. It's quite peculiar that I am not receiving Mapua pranks today, haha!

Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep

Alright, I missed doing this. After ranting a lot about some current issues, I'm now back to grace the techie/gaming scene and give you the updates that you deserve. :)

I'll give some quick updates about this upcoming prequel to the Kingdom Hearts series, entitled "Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep." This will be released for the Playstation Portable platform.

The game's plot occurs ten years before the very events of the first Kingdom Hearts game, focusing on the first three apprentices who wielded the power of the Keyblade before Sora himself- Terra, Ven and Aqua. It will feature three separate scenarios for the main characters, in order for the player to explore deeply each character's motives and pathways. The game also has a connection to the unlockable trailers on KH:2 and KH:2 Final Mix. The game will take place in various Disney-themed worlds both new and old, and will partially reflect the time difference between this game and the previous Kingdom Hearts games; for example, a younger Hercules at the Olympus Coliseum. The story revolves around three Keyblade apprentices in search of a missing Keyblade master, Master Xehanort, and his apprentice. Maleficent is believed to be the main antagonist; she causes a great disaster which results in Master Xehanort and his apprentice's disappearance.

Terra battling an "Unbirth."

Like previous Kingdom Hearts titles, Birth by Sleep will feature numerous Disney characters.In addition to original characters Terra, Ven and Aqua, confirmed characters include King Mickey, Donald Duck, Goofy, young Sora and Riku, and Master Xehanort and his apprentice. Also appearing are Maleficent and some of the Princesses of Heart. The game will introduce a new type of enemy different from Heartless and Nobodies, known as the Unbirth.

Created for the PlayStation Portable, Birth by Sleep is being directed by Tetsuya Nomura and co-directed by Tai Yasue. In 2007, Nomura mentioned a desire to create a spin-off Kingdom Hearts game on a mobile platform and for it to feature gameplay slightly different than other titles in the series. It was announced alongside Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days and Kingdom Hearts coded at the Tokyo Game Show on September 20, 2007, where a trailer was shown in a photo-prohibited theater. New trailers were shown at the 2008 Jump Festa in December 2007 and the DKΣ3713 Private party in August 2008—a playable demo was also available at DKΣ3713.

Birth by Sleep is being developed by the same team behind Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, and will use the same graphical engine as Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. Development of the game began before the release of Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix+. The plot was completed, but development was halted due to development of Re:Chain of Memories. Birth by Sleep is named after the unlockable trailer at the end of Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix. The development team plans to make use of the PSP's functions and is considering either co-operative or competitive multiplayer gameplay. Of the three new games announced, Birth by Sleep was the first one to begin development, though Nomura speculates it will be the last one released.

So there you go. We'll have to wait till' 2009's final quarter in order to place our hands on this game. As usual, expect me to give you a definitive review after its release.
